Best history book ever!

This is the BEST history book I’ve ever read. I listened to the audiobook and it had me cracking up. I am not a huge fan of nonfiction books especially books about Black History, American History, hell History period because it tends to make me sad, BUT this book had just the right amount of humor mixed it and it made me want to learn more, listen to more. I love that this book is told in AAVE, it made the information a whole lot easier for me to relate to and digest. It reminded me of learning things from elder family members because this is how they tell their stories, this is the language they use. We need MORE books like this. I need MORE books written and narrated by this author. WELL DONE!!! It’s so good I’ll be listening to the audio with my 9 and 13 year old children. I know they will like this book so much better than the dry boring books they have to read for school. I highly recommend reading and or listening to this book!

I absolutely loved this book. I read the book then once the audio was released I listened to it. Look there is NO WAY I would have put up with Frisco’s mess! Ain’t no way! But I love a good messy book and this one did not disappoint!

Loved it. Great story telling great narration. There were so many times I wanted to shake Rebecca and remind her she held all the cards and to make Matt pay! Oh and Sophia was a piece of work too!! Anyway loved the ending great book can’t wait to see what this author does next.

Long but I enjoyed it

This was the first book by this author that I have read. I really enjoyed it. I lots of drama, the sex scenes weren’t as descriptive as I usually like but I really enjoyed the story and liked the two main characters. Looking forward to checking out the second book and other books by this author.

There is no way she can be this clueless and even if she was why the hell would she stick around after the Beast Man whips out his penis and starts stroking himself in front of her. No way! I gave up. I just can’t.

WORST BOOK EVER

I'm not even 1/2 way through this book and I can't stand it. I'm trying to finish but I just can't. I have so many issues with this book. The main issue I have is WHY THE HELL DOESN'T Maggie and her family use sign language? Who goes 20 years without talking only using a pen and paper and knocking??? Totally unrealistic.
Maggie, I get that she is traumatized but come the hell on, she sits back and just watches her world fall apart around her. She is a victim and as far as I have read is enabled by her family and friends to remain a victim.
It is so painful to continue with this book.
I have read other books by this same author that I absolutely LOVED, but this one is probably the worst book I have ever read! Very disappointing!
