This was a random pick up recommended after I had read a shifter series. The length was intimidating but dear god the story!!

This is intense and interesting even in the slow bits. This is a love story and a horror story and a fantasy and steamy as hell. You root for all the right people, even when it feels like maybe you shouldn't.

I have read this book several times and everything I have to sit still afterwards and wait for everything to settle down. It is REALLY good writing and REALLY good voice acting and the story is familiar enough not get lost while being completely unique and original.

I am so glad more books are not like this. I don't think my heart could take it!

As other readers have pointed out, this book was lacking a lot in the way of romance and even seemed a bit contradictory in regards to character feelings and reactions.

The high action and minimal roman between the main characters made this book make it feel like it should have been part of a different book series. There was so much potential for this to be sweeter... and for a pairing that was so long in the making, it is just a bit of a let down.

Don't get me wrong!! This is a fabulous book and I will be reading it over and over... I had just been hoping for a little bit more.

A little Christmas magic, a lot of family chaos, a cat, a Christmas tree, a tub of ice cream... This is a funny, sweet story of unfortunate timing and a little Santa magic that was a fun listen but didn't require too much brain power to keep up with. I was invested without being stressed, which is perfect. Short and sweet and perfect.

This is one of my favorites in this series. A little angst, a little damaged, but good... at least the parts I could hear.

When in the car on the freeway, I listen to books at a volume of about 15 over the car's system. I had this up at nearly 30 and still could not hear huge chunks of the story and at times you can hear banging or other voices in the background of the recording. These combined more or less ruined this audio book. 😞

This book has been on my reread/listen to list since the day I downloaded it, and will be for life.

It's not a heavy thinker to understand, the characters are interesting, and the narrators are perfect. This book is actually the reason for a good chunk of my library because I loved Joel Leslie's voice so much that I have started to select books largely just because he narrates them.

I wasn't expecting the second half of this book. The first half was the expected delightful goofiness of a good urban fantasy and then it took a left turn into a bigger, more developed world that made me extremely happy that I bought the audio book and not just borrowed the Kindle Unlimited e-book.

And Joel Leslie... I mean, say no more. Heck, a chunk of my library exists because I browse books specifically narrated by him.

It is a good story and I enjoyed all of the characters but I did have some personal issues regarding relationship statuses.

The narrator also chose voices for characters that initially threw me completely off. Ethan, who is younger but larger and more dominant had the lighter, almost softer voice while James' was deeper. It wasn't a bad choice, I just had to get over the stereotype in my head that the dominate character would be deeper and more confident.

Nora knocks it out of the park, again! I have read this series soooo many times and am thrilled it is coming out on audiobook! I have always struggled with multiple partner stories, especially those involving an Alpha and Omega because someone is always left out. It comes down to the Alpha and the Omega and anyone else is sidelined because babies.

In both this series and No Shame, she addresses and overcomes the issue perfectly, acknowledging the potential and successfully introducing healthy, loving, and hawt roles for each of the men to fill (pun intended) that are natural and both physically and emotionally healthy and fulfilling for all involved.

I can't wait for the rest of the series!!!

Perfect combo of story and narration

I have been known to read a book, love it, and then hunt down any other books written by the same author and buy them all, whether or not the are any good. I have started to do the same thing with narrators. I never would have run into this series if not for being madly in love with Joel Leslie from the Haven Hart and Curl Up and Dye series. And thanks to him, I have another author to start padding my audio and e-book shelves with.

I don't always write reviews because everyone has an opinion and yadda yadda yadda, but sometimes you just have to speak up. This book literally had me laughing out loud - hard to explain to my husband and/or my coworkers. It also had me hiding in my office or in my bedroom with tears rolling down my cheeks... and yet another case of trying to explain to my husband and/or coworkers.

In serial romance stories, it is so easy to fall into cookie cutter characters, but Jude and Asa are so beautifully unique that you can't predict how they are going to act or react to most situations and Joel's narration of voices are distinct, making it easy to flow from one character to the next without questioning who is speaking. Joel's vocalization of Billy was flat out amazing, and the pure innocence behind his dialogue was masterful! I am both delighted and embarrassed at how long it too me to realize that the fan mail responses at the beginning of chapters were not in fact real Asa written responses, which had me extremely confused about his character for quite a while and then rewinding to listen to them again so I could fully appreciate the genius that is Jude.

There is a little of everything in this series, and I HIGHLY recommend going to the author's website to read the short stories for both Dylan/Gabe and Jude/Asa.

My absolute ONLY complaint is that I am likely going to have to wait several months before the third book is available on audible, but you had better believe I will have it on pre-order the second it is available.
