Historia
To the outside world, they seem to have it all. Cassie Barrett, a renowned anthropologist, and Alex Rivers, one of Hollywood's hottest actors, met on the set of a motion picture in Africa. They shared childhood tales, toasted the future, and declared their love in a fairy-tale wedding. But when they return to California, something alters the picture of their perfect marriage. A frightening pattern is taking shape - a cycle of hurt, denial, and promises, thinly veiled by glamour.

A beautiful love story marred by a broken child who became an emotionally broken man. Not just a love story, but a very intricately written story.

Liz Moore has now been added to my favorite authors list. She’s just a cut above. Love that I was surprised throughout the read—all the way to the revelation of the “villian”.

Historia
A 50-mile man-made waterway connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the creation of the Panama Canal was arguably the greatest infrastructure project the world had ever seen. But its journey from concept to completion was anything but simple, as it failed repeatedly, and passed through numerous pairs of hands, before a decade-long construction began, fronted by the United States. But what made the creation of the canal the single most expensive construction effort in American history, both in dollars and human life? Why did a seemingly simple ditch-digging exercise stump the era’s ...

Historia
A skeleton is found in a shallow grave in the churchyard. But this was not an official burial. The victim was murdered decades ago. At the same time, Detective Nikki Galena and her team are investigating the brutal slaying of local businesswoman Madeline Prospero. She was a member of an exclusive and secretive drinking club called The Briar Patch. But they've got no suspects and no one is telling them the truth. Meanwhile, the buried skeleton leads them on a trail to the village of Quintin Eaudyke. This is a troubled place. In the late 70s and 80s a reign of terror was unleashed.

Too Many Characters
Revisado: 12-02-24
Too many characters to listen to this book. I was constantly going back trying to identify yet another character who might be a suspect. Wrong characters emphasizes and developed, in my opinion.

Meh…
Revisado: 11-06-24
This is my 3rd book of this series, and I enjoyed the first too much more. I like the way Lauth weaves in a mystery within a mystery, but on this book the extra storyline felt forced. Also seemed that the last quarter of the book seemed padded as to lengthen the story.

Historia
Promising architect Peter Young is shot dead at his desk. DCI Craig Gillard is on the scene, looking at what appears to be a brutal and highly professional hit: two bullets, fired with ice-cold calm. Gillard knows that the most crucial question in solving the crime is one word: why? Two weeks later, on the Lincolnshire coast, another body is found on a windswept beach. In this case there is no identity for the young man, just a curious brand burned into his neck....
