Historia
When Elon Musk was a kid in South Africa, he was regularly beaten by bullies. One day a group pushed him down some concrete steps and kicked him until his face was a swollen ball of flesh. He was in the hospital for a week. But the physical scars were minor compared to the emotional ones inflicted by his father, an engineer, rogue, and charismatic fantasist.

Excellent story
Revisado: 09-09-24
Great story, telling of the traits and flaws of Elon Musk. Musk has a sense of urgency that causes him to demand great things of himself and others. This behavior is a flaw in that he makes mistakes that others who spent time thinking about it would avoid

Historia
The families behind America’s astronaut heroes are just like yours...sort of. This is the hilarious true story of one of those families. While many children grow up wanting to become an astronaut, Patrick Mullane grew up the child of one. In his memoir, The Father, Son, and Holy Shuttle: Growing Up an Astronaut’s Kid in the Glorious 80s, Mullane shares his hilarious coming-of-age story. It’s a story about his quirky and death-defying father, a mother with a secret, and a cast of characters from his extended family who showed their love for him in often bizarre ways.

Historia
In recent years, Christians everywhere are rediscovering the Jewish roots of their faith. Every year at Easter time, many believers now celebrate Passover meals (known as Seders) seeking to understand exactly what happened at Jesus' final Passover, the night before he was crucified. Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist shines fresh light on the Last Supper by looking at it through Jewish eyes.

Interesting story
Revisado: 12-09-22
What a story of how different people approach life, think and live. It inspiring and troubling. As a marathon runner and triathlete, lots of people think I’m crazy to do endurance events like that.
To a endurance athletes, these people are nuts. This isn’t a lifestyle for me, the sacrifices they make to do hundreds of miles and pushups leaves me wondering what’s the point, it’s impressive to be able to do that, but why?
Highly recommend this book, it was enjoyable and entertaining.

Historia
St. Thomas Aquinas is known for producing history's most complete system of Christian philosophy. In the late 13th century, this quiet, reflective Dominican scholar combined the work of Aristotle with Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and pagan thought to reconcile reason and faith. For Thomas, intellectual knowledge is a sign of the spirituality that energizes the human center. He believed we can know that God exists, but not what God is like.

St. Thomas should be read, studied, re-read
Revisado: 07-30-21
I really enjoy St. Thomas and studying him. Listening to a book though is different than reading, and St. Thomas should be read and re-read a a difficult passage or concept appears.
Great performance and hearing the story.

Historia
Man’s Search for Meaning is the chilling yet inspirational story of Viktor Frankl’s struggle to hold on to hope during the unspeakable horrors of his years as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of those he treated in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering, but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.

In college I did a book report on this book, unfortunately I browsed the book and wrote the report without actually reading the book. I got a B because I think my professor didn’t read my report.
After listening to this book, I realized what a wonderful book this was and wish I had read this and studied and discussed this book with others

Historia
In this remarkable exploration of the Catholic world, prominent Catholic author and papal biographer George Weigel offers a luminous collection of letters to young Catholics, not-so-young Catholics, and curious souls who wonder what it means to be Catholic today. Weigel takes readers on an epistolary tour of Catholic landmarks - from Chartres Cathedral to St. Mary's Church in Greenville, South Carolina; from the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem to G.K. Chesterton's favorite pub in Oxford; and from the grave of a modern martyr in Warsaw to the Sistine Chapel.

In 2014's The Accidental Superpower, geopolitical strategist Peter Zeihan made the case that geographic, demographic, and energy trends were unravelling the global system. Zeihan takes the story a step further in The Absent Superpower, mapping out the threats and opportunities as the world descends into disorder.

Gloomy read
Revisado: 01-31-20
Answers a lot of questions but leaves more unanswered. China has a demographic problem, but isn’t Japanese demographics worse?
Won’t world demand for petroleum go down as demographics crash?
I’d recommend this book and listen to Peter talk on YouTube, he’s great and continue questions of his conclusions.

Interesting conclusions and this theory is more well founded than geography. Wondering if this would also be true within a business
