Historia
In 2152, the avian race is on Earth looking for something stolen from them decades ago - their genetics. At the center of the search lies the Rural Republic; a small backwards farming country with high hopes of military domination and a penchant for illegal bioengineering. 19-year-old Junco Coot is the daughter of the Rural Republic's ranking commander. She's the most foul-mouthed, wildly unpredictable and ruthless sniper the Rural Republic has ever trained.

Kickass woman rocks!
Revisado: 07-01-16
Junco is complex. Her relationship with Tier the Avian is intense. The world that the drama is alternative, but very believable. I had read the book before I listened. I has a heads up that it is violent and bloody__but never gratuitous. It fits the world. I don't want to say more and spoil it.
I enjoy a narrative that when a voice is flat as stated in the book that it how it is played. the male voices are distinct which is a good trick for a women performer. I just bought the next two in the series just before I wrote this review.
Enjoy. You are in for a trip.

Revisado: 04-10-15
I usually buy audible books after all I have read the actual books. It lends a whole other dimension. I just have to say that this book wraps up the entire series in a wonderful, wonderful, sad heartbreaking way. Read it.

Great to read, even better to listen.
Revisado: 08-05-14
This is one of my favorites in the Colorado Mountain series. It is gritty, carnal and sensual. The entire story from Ty and Lexi meeting to the epilog makes it hard to put down OR stop listening.
It carries through with one of the reasons I love Kristen Ashley books. It starts off with a unique situation of Lexi picking Ty up. The story continues with their coming together, and them recognizing they connection and commitment to each other. It is set against a background of deception and corruption (by others). It is a well woven and complex story. I’d like to say more but I don’t want to include any spoilers.
Emma Taylor does an excellent job of narration. The voice she creates for Ty is awesome. Deep, gravely, just like the book describes. Her pacing and acting of the characters is first rate. I found many things to do so I could listen more. . . . longer drives to work, really clean carpet. . .
Now, when is Breathe coming out???? Please!

Historia
Indy Savage is a former wild child (okay, maybe not so "former") and current used-bookstore owner. Lee Nightingale is a former bad boy and now runs a private investigation service. Toss together a quiet barista with a not-so-lawful side-business, a crazy Vietnam Vet, a pothead, a drag queen, family and friends who will not mind their own business, a few stun guns, and a bag of diamonds, and mix them all up with some shootings, a high-speed chase and car bombs exploding, then hang on for your first wild Rock Chick ride.

I laughed out loud and smiled. GREAT!
Revisado: 04-19-14
I have read all the books in the series and was DELIGHTED to find them being released as audiobooks.
Susannah Jones does an excellent job in performing all the different voices for the people in the story. Her range is from Tex to Indie. . . . and she gets it right on! I found it very difficult to quit listening when I had to start work, or actually do something that required my focus. I found myself driving the long way home!
The story has enough plots, sub-plots, Hot Guys, Rock Chicks, and a well developed cast of supporting characters to make the story entertaining. I am reluctant to say more because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. Just know I laughed out loud more than once, and was also entertained with the suspense and the mystery part of the plot.
The book/audiobook entranced me.
The only bad part is I bought this audiobook in April 2014 and now I have to wait until June 2014 for the next in the series to be released. I can hardly wait.

A excellent essence of Dragos and Pia
Revisado: 03-28-14
What made the experience of listening to Dragos Takes a Holiday the most enjoyable?
I am a real fan of the entire Elder Races series. This novella is quintessential Dragos and Pia. Eva and Hugh play a role in the story. Best of all, we get more of Liam. I loved it and hope furture books reveal more about him.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I don't have a favorite character. I am entraced by Dragos, Touched by Pia and charmed by Liam.
What about Sophie Eastlake’s performance did you like?
She captures the personalities to perfection. She is incredibly adept at capturing the differences in male, female and chuldren's voices. Her portrayal of Eva is masterful. She captures the sassy southern toughness. Hugh is Hugh. Just what you would expect a gargoyl to be. Liam, lovely. Just all around masterful.
I think her performances set a benchmark for me when I evaluate other audio books. I am disappointed when they do not achieve this level of performance. She performs, not narrates.
I will listen to this story again.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES!! YES!! YES!! and I did. Got sucked up in it.

Captivating
Revisado: 03-16-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is the second book in this series. Written in Red was excellent, a Murder of Crows only makes the story richer. The story presents a different concept of shape shifters, vampires, and an alternative universe. The whole concept is fresh. The story is rich in detail and well-developed.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Murder of Crows?
The whole story is rich. That's why I gave it five stars. I enjoyed the evolving relationship between Meg and Simon. The changing of the relationship between humans and the Terra Indigene is fascinating.
What does Alexandra Harris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Ms. Harris makes the characters in the book come to life. You have a new appreciation for the action in the book. The tone of the voice gives you a new perspective of what the characters are feeling and doing. Masterful.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The book is a series of moving moments. The developing relationship between Meg and Simon. Henry. Tess. Vlad. Montgomery. The book itself is rich and the narration only makes it better.
Any additional comments?
I have listen to it twice already. I will probably do it again. Listening to it brings out a different dimension and doing it again only reveals out other levels.

Bo and Blayne come alive!!!
Revisado: 03-16-14
Where does Beast Behaving Badly rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Beast behaving badly is at the top of my list. It is entertaining and captivating. I laughed out loud. I enjoyed reading the book, but the narration really makes these characters, all the characters in the book very real.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Beast Behaving Badly?
Blaine is kind of a whacked character. Bo is Bo. All the moments, action in the book come very much to life. It is just over all well done.
Have you listened to any of Charlotte Kane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't listened to other of her narrations. But knowing that she is the one bringing the story to life in another book would be one of my considerations in buying it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed out loud listening to this book. The narration added a whole dimension to the characters in the book. As I said above, I enjoyed reading the book. The narration just makes these characters so alive. I really enjoyed it.
Any additional comments?
I listen to audiobooks when I drive. I drive more miles then Ieven want to think about during the week. I found myself listening to this book every opportunity I could get. At home at night before I went to bed, walking the dogs, cooking dinner and of course while driving. I was sorry when it was over. I'll just have to look for another one by the same author, and the same narrator.
