Great Narration - predictable killer
Revisado: 05-07-25
So thankful the monotone narration of the previous reader is gone!!!while some of the voice modulation needs work, I’m looking forward to the next books!!!
However, the actual killer should have been identified chapters prior to the actual reveal.

Looking forward and leaving Marie
Revisado: 07-04-24
While I liked how pieces fit together, it seemed as though some of the pieces were forced into place. Too neat of a tie up actually. I am sorry that this will be the final book in the series as it would be great to see how the characters evolve after the war and during Englands reconstruction.

Historia
Frances Wynn, the American-born Countess of Harleigh, enjoys more freedom as a widow than she did as a wife. After an obligatory year spent mourning her philandering husband, Reggie, she puts aside her drab black gowns, leaving the countryside and her money-grubbing in-laws behind. With her young daughter in tow, Frances rents a home in Belgravia and prepares to welcome her sister, Lily, arriving from New York - for her first London season.

Good story, but repetitive
Revisado: 02-02-24
I liked the premise of the story, but the reading is a bit monotonous. The story is funny and twisted and with a great deal of fun.
However, the delivery is long and repetitive. The facts of the discoveries are repeated several times for the hearing of the characters, but for the hearing of the audience it is a bit dull.

Maybe all the COVID references are “Too Soon”
Revisado: 11-07-23
29 years from now, when those who have not lived through COVID come across this story, it might be illuminating. Presently, it’s annoying. One reads or listens to stories to escape a bit. This was disconcerting. A few references would have been ok, but UGH.
The way the performer read was also annoying. Emotionless and rushed. As if reading a text book.
However, the story was grand! I loved the wrap up and how the characters have grown through the series.
