Historia
On a brisk autumn day in 1686, 18-year-old Nella Oortman arrives in Amsterdam to begin a new life as the wife of illustrious merchant trader Johannes Brandt. But her new home, while splendorous, is not welcoming. Johannes is kind yet distant, always locked in his study or at his warehouse office - leaving Nella alone with his sister, the sharp-tongued and forbidding Marin.

Strange story
Revisado: 06-22-19
Interesting, but darker than I expected. And left too many loose ends. But I do recommend listening. Just go in with no expectations of where the story is going...because it's not going THERE.

Historia
Miracle Springs is a place of healing. Strangers flock there hoping that the natural hot springs, five-star cuisine, and renowned spa can cure their ills. And, if none of that works, they often find their way to Miracle Books, where, over a fresh-baked scone from the Gingerbread House bakery, they exchange their stories with owner Nora Pennington in return for a carefully chosen book. That's Nora's special talent: prescribing the perfect novel to ease a person's deepest pain and lighten their heaviest burden.

What to expect
Revisado: 06-22-19
Combination of schmaltzy romance novel and third-rate mystery, interspersed with more inane quotes from novels than anyone should be forced to endure. I listened to this Audible book in the car - long drives to and from medical appointments - otherwise, I never would have finished it. (Much to the dismay of my 7th grade teacher, who instilled in me the habit of finishing every book I was reading, no matter how bad.) Seriously. Life is too short to waste on this book.

Historia
Romain Curtis sneaks into St. George’s Gardens one evening with his date, planning to show her the stars. A centuries-old burial ground, the small, quiet park is the perfect place to be alone. Yet the night takes a chilling turn when the two teenagers spy a strange figure rising from among the tombstones: a corpse emerging from the grave. Suffice it to say that wherever there’s a dead man walking, Bryant and May and the Peculiar Crimes Unit are never far behind.

Haven't read one of their books in several years. This one does not disappoint. Highly recommend.

Not literature, but an entertaining story. Heard most of it on airplanes, and it was good enough to make my flight time pleasant. I would recommend this for vacation or beach reading.
