High adrenaline up to the end
Revisado: 01-10-23
The narrator was great. Really kept me engaged.
I love how Connor thinks through everything when the plot keep changing every minute. The backstory is on point with what is going on in our society today too which made it more relatable.

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Murder Mystery Psyco Twist!
Revisado: 09-10-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Gone Girl to be better than the print version?
Never read the book, so can't compare.
What other book might you compare Gone Girl to and why?
Momento maybe? I don't usually read mysteries.
Have you listened to any of Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not sure.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
My reaction was more of surprise. What you are reading at the beginning turns out o be fake, so you are finding out half way through that the characters have completely different personalities than you thought! It was a very unique way of writing that I thoguht was brilliant!
Any additional comments?
This book is brilliantly written giving twists and turns that you don't see coming. The characters aren't who you think they are!

Average Soap Opera
Revisado: 09-10-12
What disappointed you about Mistletoe and Margaritas?
This wasn't a bad book by any means. I just felt the story line wasn't very special. It is kind of something you would see on a soap opera. Boy likes girl, but is afraid to tell her. No one wants to ruin friendship. Bla, bla, bla.
Have you listened to any of MacLeod Andrews’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not sure.
What character would you cut from Mistletoe and Margaritas?
I wouldn't cut any of the characters. They all had a purpose.

So much better than Shades of Grey!
Revisado: 09-10-12
If you could sum up Bared to You in three words, what would they be?
steamy
What other book might you compare Bared to You to and why?
This book is similar to Shades of Grey in that the male character is a control freak, but in a more normal way. He doesn't have some S&M fetish or anything like that. He's just a type A personality. Both characters do had a past that causes conflict and they have to work on communicating with one another.
Which character – as performed by Jill Redfield – was your favorite?
I thought all of the characters were well written and performed well. You could really hear the difference in personality when spoken by performer. You felt like you were watching a play.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I didn't want to put this book down! The seans were so vivid and raw.

Interesting view into Hollywood sidcom start ups
Revisado: 08-14-12
If you could sum up The Next Best Thing in three words, what would they be?
Funny, realistic love, & heart wrenching.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Next Best Thing?
If you are looking for a love story that doesn't include buff hunks and sexy females this is for you.
Which scene was your favorite?
Probably the interview scene with funny quirky back and forth between the main character and her soon to be love interest.
If you could take any character from The Next Best Thing out to dinner, who would it be and why?
The main character. She is funny, insecure like the rest of us, and sincere.
Any additional comments?
I love how this scared woman has overcome her insecurity to live her life in the middle of Babelon among the pretty people of Hollywood, and still hold true to herself. I love that her happily ever after isn't another made up hunky man that every woman is going to drool over. It is a realistic romanic love affair that will leave you dreaming that it could happen to you!

Not a light hearted read
Revisado: 12-05-11
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I was looking for a light chic-flick type book to read and this one just had a very dark undertone with the main character almost loosing her baby and depression, etc.
Has Good in Bed turned you off from other books in this genre?
No. But I won't be reading anything else from this author.
Have you listened to any of Paula Cale’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. THe voice was fine. No complaints.
What character would you cut from Good in Bed?
None. I just wasn't looking for such a serious story.

From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Revisado: 12-05-11
Would you listen to Bossypants again? Why?
I would recommend it to someone else, but I wouldn't listen to it twice.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Bossypants?
I liked all her stories about rising up through the ranks of comedy as a woman.
Have you listened to any of Tina Fey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've only seen her on SNL and in a couple of movies. This just gave a better overall idea of what she is like in real life.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Tina Faye, as real as it gets.
Any additional comments?
This is a very funny autobiography of her life.

Historia
When Carlisle Wainwright Cushing left her native Texas to start a new life in Boston, she had no regrets. The former Texas debutante, who never felt at home in her Southern skin, had found liberation--or so she thought. Until the day she gets an urgent call from her mother, reporting that: One, the Symphony Association Debutante Ball, which Carlisle's family has sponsored for years, is about to be called off; Two, her mother's divorce has the whole town talking; And three, the family's good name is at stake and Carlisle is the only one who can fix it all.

Texas Ex's!
Revisado: 12-05-11
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this to anyone who has ever been to Texas or is from there. This story was absolutely hysterical! I am an ex-Texas girl myself, and this book brought back so many memories of typical Texas ladies and expectations, etc. The author clearly did her homework.
What did you like best about this story?
Te4xas is one of the only places that has kept their old traditions of debutaunte life. It gave a true rendition of this tradition and added a great romantic back story.
Have you listened to any of Susan Bennett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I will now.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me laugh out loud in some parts, and keep flipping the pages.
