it's not often that I don't finish a book I've started... but I don't know how the narrator didn't fall asleep reading the book out loud. the story is fine but the narrator has odd pauses, over enunciation, over acts and is overly dramatic. I drive 10 hours a day and can't afford to listen to something that puts me to sleep.

terrible narrator

narrator. could barely tell which person was speaking. 18 year old characters speaking like 50 year old snootyier than snooty beatches. very distracting. sometimes there are odd pauses and inflections -- again, distracting. I listen for enjoyment but instead find myself correcting it in my head in order to follow the story. won't listen to this narrator again.

The story would have been more enjoyable if it had a decent narrator. There were pauses in strange places, statements almost sounded like questions. I'm not sure if she was trying to sound dramatic, but she failed miserably. She was either marginally better towards the end or my brain blocked out the annoying parts.

This book had a different narrator - not only did she make everyone sound 80 but stupid as well. Since most were authors she did them an injustice in her portrayal. I only finished it because I enjoyed the previous 3 and wanted to know how it ended.

narrator's reading voice was good, however, the conversations were stilted and diction was overly enunciated and unnatural. voice of Charlotte did not fit described personality and was annoyingly without any personality at all most of the time.

Need new narrator

The story was great, I struggled with the odd and abrupt cadence of the narrator. I got the next book only because I wanted to know what happens with the rest of the girls.

The story would be interesting, if only someone else narrated and the removed the endless "author's notes". Some were dumb, like I'm pretty sure most of us know what it means when someone "smites" something, or at least only say it once - not 3 times within 2 sentences -- and please confine them to end of chapter so as to not interrupt the flow of the story.

Good story, horrible narrator.

I like most of her books, however, I have a hard time with Tim Campbell's narration. Why do all the men sound like dock workers? He should use his normal speaking voice rather than the ugly rough voice he uses for men of the nobility. He should narrate horror stories or spy thrillers, not romance novels.
