I love science fiction books but this isn’t good science fiction at all. Each chapter takes a concept, spells it out, and then runs down what that means. No story, no plot, no characters, no twists — none of the elements that make good stories.
A waste of money, but worse a waste of time.

This is little more than a radio podcast of the tv show with mostly narration from Yannick Bisson.

It’s barely better than watching it on TV.

Thankfully it’s free with my membership.

I’ve read a lot of the Trump books. This one is the best and leads to a thrilling conclusion of the insurrectuion

What's not to love?

The great Julie Andrews gently, firmly, softly, and sometimes Bradly tells you a story of her beginnings in life and show business.

What a joy! What a tasty. And listening to it now, during the pandemic, made the lockdown move ever so quicker. Add in a few youTube videos and the days fly by.

My favorite author/narrator and favorite museum

I was thrilled see this short series of podcasts covering my favorite museum in London narrated by my favorite author, Bill Bryson.
Unfortunately the juxtaposition of objects seems forced. And the change in audio quality between the museum curator and Bryson made it evident that they weren’t talking to each other together.
But I wouldn’t miss a chance to listen to Bill talk about science.

The characters are so one dimensional that it's hard to card about them. The plot of the missing Flotus is weak.
And towards the end the book turns into a polemic for the Me Too movement.
However Jessica Yellin's performance is workable.

A President raging about a conspiracy out to get him. Breaking old alliances to meet with the Russian president. Attempts to wiretap all Americans. Back in 1965 this best-seller was an examination of what the 25th Amendment could mean. Today itdelves into the what-ifs of the current POTUS.
With just enough sex scenes to keep the politics from getting too boring.
A light read that can be listened to without paying too much attention.

There's about 3 hours of content. But only one hour, for Harry Clark, is any good. The other performance of Lillian is boring. And the two discussions feel like they were put in as filler.
Crudup is brilliant. But the story is too much like the Talented Mr. Ripley.

This is one of the most important books on the rise of fascist political movements. From the past to the present.
And sec. Albright's performance is as polished as any professional's.

I had bought this book as soon as it came out. But then I didn't want to slog through a book on Trump.

This isn't a book on Trump. It's a book about a woman trying to keep up with a job in a world that is spinning out of control. It starts with her describing an idyllic life in France, being thrown into covering Trump, with wonderful flashbacks to her life growing up.

Meanwhile it's always good when the author read her own book. But Katy Tur reads with so much emotion and clarity that you could think she's next to you in the car as you commute.

I'm not sure Ms Tur could write another book like this one. Butt if she does, I'll get it.
