Historia
When SEAL Team Six killed Osama bin Laden, they pulled a treasure trove of intelligence on planned attacks on U.S. soil. Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda's new leader, is activating his most trusted (and deadliest) terrorists to carry out his newest plot: to detonate a bomb inside one of the 64 commercial nuclear power plants in the U.S. in an attack 10 times worse than 9/11, causing radiological fallout that would kill hundreds of thousands of innocent Americans.

It was only alright.
Revisado: 03-07-25
I realize that this is years too late but after several books the reader should have gotten better direction on military acronyms and pronunciation. After 34 years in two different services as combat arms I can be picky. Knowing that the author is a CAG guy, he is an expert and a badass, however, the story was a little lazy. Things just worked out and situations just seemed to happen with not much explanation.

Historia
Of the 1.3 million active-duty service members in the US military, only a tiny fraction are selected as “operators.” Shannon Kent was one of the first women to serve at this level and was widely recognized as one of the best. Shannon served as a Navy cryptologic technician, responsible for signals intelligence and electronic warfare, but her proficiency with language set her apart. She was assigned to a unit so secretive that its name can’t even be printed here, where she worked clandestinely to hunt the most wanted terrorists in the world.

Every American should read or listen to this book. Most Americans will never see the most dangerous areas of the world and the work that is being done on thier behalf. Great but sad book.

After finding the ruins of a Mayan temple - and saving the world from a terrorist attack - in One Rough Man, Pike Logan has been given the chance to rejoin the Taskforce, a top-secret counterterrorist organization that operates outside the bounds of US law. But before he becomes an operator again, he’s determined to get Jennifer Cahill into the Taskforce as well, though no one else seems willing to give a female civilian a shot.

Terrible narration- Good story
Revisado: 09-04-24
Two different narrators? I don't know why, it didn't add to the story, the older guy didn't even attempt a female voice. The story was good, like the first. However, I see that the rest of the books have the same narration team. They are too irritating to listen to for the rest. Too bad though. Why did they change narrators?

Historia
Armored cars, burner phones, top-notch weaponry, and top-secret missions - this is the life of today's private military contractor. Like author Simon Chase, many PMCs were once the world's top military operatives, and since retiring from outfits like US Navy SEAL TEAM Six and the UK's Special Boat Service, they have devoted their lives to executing missions too sensitive for the government to acknowledge. Chase reveals here for the first time the operations too hazardous and politically volatile to be officially sanctioned by his employers.

This book is an eye opener. The story speaks of stark reality in a world most people will never experience or understand, yet seem to always have an opinion. I throughly enjoyed it.

Historia
When a fragile peace breaks down and promptly devolves into a rapidly escalating shooting war between Pakistan and India, the U.S. must intervene. With only hours remaining before the conflict reaches a deadly point of no return, the White House must find a way to shut it down immediately or risk the likelihood of a new global war. A radical cleric has become the democratically elected president of Pakistan and uses a brutal incident in the Kashmir region as an opportunity to ignite war with India. The highly lethal conventional war spins out of control when Pakistan initiates a nuclear attack.

Not as good as the first....
Revisado: 04-18-24
Changed narrator, he didn't do nearly as well as the first narrator. Listening to the first book I picked up on subtle things that told me the author never served in the military. After serving more than 30 years, I realize I am more sensitive than most: however, it was so much more obvious in this book. I may not listen to the third book.

Riveting and believable. This story was well written and engaging and I could barely tear myself away. I only listen to books when I am doing "stuff", so I kept very busy. I hope to hear more with this story-line.

Great story
Revisado: 03-27-24
Awesome concept. Parts at the beginning were a little weak due to the author's apparent lack of understanding of the the military and how long it actually takes for new officers to get to positions of authority and the length of the initial training, etc. However, the story was outstanding and engaging. I am sorry it ended. I would like more details of the aftermath.

For many people, military service isn’t simply a job. It’s a ticket out of a lonely society and into a family of enduring bonds. In over a decade of working with veterans, Johnny Joey Jones has discovered the power of battle-forged friendships. Historia
Blackwater is one of the most misunderstood companies of our time. As Erik Prince, its founder and former CEO, writes: "Hundreds of American citizens employed by private military contractors, or PMCs, would lose their lives helping our government wage wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, only to have their memory tarnished by the unfair and/or ignorant depiction of PMCs as profiteers, jackbooted thugs, or worse."
