Thought it was a children’s book
Revisado: 05-02-24
Cartoonish and dumb. I really “misread” Dean Koontz. Thought he was a serious writer; not a sitcom hack.

Lot of repetition. Lots of quotes.
Revisado: 09-07-23
If it were me, I wouldn’t waste the credit. It’s not a lot of facts. It’s mainly really cliched quotes. And like I said, a lot of them are used over and over again. Wish I had my credit back.

Historia
Charles Waters has 30 days to live. Those days pass in a blur and he dies a quiet, unnoticed death. He opens his eyes back in the doctor's office as he is told, "I'm sorry to say, but you have 30 days to live." Weak
Revisado: 08-13-23
Author has no ear for dialogue. Main character is autistic or semi retarded. But it’s very inconsistent. One minute he can’t make scrambled eggs, the next he’s jumping on a flight across the country. Glad this story was free.

Historia
If you've ever laughed your way through David Sedaris's cheerfully misanthropic stories, you might think you know what you're getting with Calypso. You'd be wrong. When he buys a beach house on the Carolina coast, Sedaris envisions long, relaxing vacations spent playing board games and lounging in the sun with those he loves most. And it's as idyllic as he imagined, except for one tiny, vexing realization: it's impossible to take a vacation from yourself. With Calypso, Sedaris sets his formidable powers of observation - and dark humor - toward middle age and mortality.

Right on par with his best work
Revisado: 08-11-23
My life is better having discovered David Sedaris in my 30’s. He’s funny, irreverent and quietly sad. He’s both hilariously feminine and surprisingly masculine. This book is definitely in my top three
