Historia
Like an avenging, purple-haired Jedi bringing balance to the mansplained universe, Bee Königswasser lives by a simple code: What would Marie Curie do? If NASA offered her the lead on a neuroengineering project—a literal dream come true after years scraping by on the crumbs of academia—Marie would accept without hesitation. Duh. But the mother of modern physics never had to co-lead with Levi Ward.

Revisado: 09-07-22
I’m continually impressed with Ali Hazelwood’s work and cannot wait get my hands on whatever comes out next. The science and romance make for some crazy STEaMy - definitely something in the way of water cycles and liquid becoming gas, and all that sciencey jazz. Love, love, LOVE. And Levi is totally my newest book boyfriend. #Dreamboat

But she’s always been haunted by the feeling that it could’ve been her. And the worst part is, January’s killer has never been brought to justice.

The ending?
Revisado: 08-20-22
What happened to the ending? It just stopped. I’m a Crime Junkie, but that’s not how books end. It was sudden and made no sense.

Good follow up novel
Revisado: 02-28-22
Good story and a good follow up to the 1st novel. I wish it had a little more of the excitement of the 1st, but I have high hopes for the 3rd book.
The narration was very off-putting. The female narrator would’ve done great alone, but having a male narrator jump in for male voices was distracting and took away from the flow of the entire production.

Besides being a fun, exciting story, the narrator really made it for me. Great voice acting skills.
Also, Andrew is my new book boyfriend. Yummy!

Mystery and Handsome Apparitions
Revisado: 11-18-20
The story was fabulous. I was really worried how a full story could fit into a couple of hours, but Kerrigan Byrne did not disappoint. I walked away swooning over Jonathan and so excited to own this and get to listen again.
Great job on a sexy, Christmasy tale - it’s like a quirky, but possibly more satisfying.
Great job!

Historia
When I first encountered Ford Donovan, I had no idea who he was...well, other than the obvious. Young, gorgeous, successful, smart. Did I mention young? If I did, it bears repeating. Ford Donovan was too young for me. Let’s back up to how it all started. My best friend decided I needed to start dating again. So, without my knowledge, she set up a profile for me on a popular dating site - one that invited men ages 21 to 27 to apply for a date.

#Stoked
Revisado: 03-13-20
Without doubt, Revelstoke Templeton-Vane is the most delicious hero I’ve ever read. He is all things manly and brave and drool-inspiring, wrapped up in romantic notions and poetry. If I said I read these books only to spend copious amounts of time with Stoker, I doubt anyone here would question that it is indeed time well spent. However, I find Veronica Speedwell to be, if not as delicious to my heterosexual inclinations, quite as fascinating; she is a woman who knows her own mind and body, and unabashedly chooses to do as she wishes. If only there were more women like her in the world at large, Beyoncé’s “Run the World” would be a literal interpretation of modern life.
I will encourage my daughter to read these novels as she gets older, and I encourage you to do the same: feed our girls Speedwell from the same hand we feed them Bennet and the Marches.
PS. If none of the above beseeches you to give the Veronica Speedwell Mysteries a read, the Victorian-era cursing may provide the needed push. “Bloody Bollocking Hell” and “Flaming Hades” have been added to my vocabularic (is that a word??) repertoire, amongst others.

Fantastic debut novel!
Revisado: 09-07-19
I’m generally hesitant to fall in love with either Regency or Victorian romances because there is oftentimes nothing more to their plots than a hesitant wallflower and an unbending nobleman whom she refuses for no strong reason.
This is far from the case with Bringing Down the Duke, however! There’s true depth of character found within our hero and heroine, and their turmoils are true to their characters, circumstances, and world events. This combination leads to a great plot where others fall short.
Great work. I look forward to reading more from Evie Dunmore!

Julianne Westcott was living the kind of life that other Protestant girls in prewar Liverpool could only dream about: old money, silk ball gowns, and prominent young men lining up to escort her. But when she learns of a blind-and-deaf brother, institutionalized since birth, the illusion of her perfect life and family shatters around her.

Tears and 3.5 of 5 wood-whittled peacocks (or “stars” if you’re not fun enough to make up your own rating system ;) )
Revisado: 02-23-19
It began with lovely flourish, ended with tears of relief and pain, but the middle was absolutely frustrating and aggravating. I suppose it’s a good sign that a book can evoke such emotion, but the main character was so frustratingly selfish and aggravatingly stubborn that it really brought this book down from a 4.5 star rating to a 3. I don’t believe her choices were at all relatable, and this brought the book from fiction to fantastical in the worst of ways.
I loved Kyle. He was good and kind; a little on the 2D side as well, yet much deeper than Julianne.
I am glad I gave the book a go; it was worth the tears, but I could’ve done without the unnecessary and unrealistic aggravation.
