Historia
Sasha Pierce hasn’t had a single dream since she was a child...until she accepts a substitute teaching position in the charmingly witchy village of Old Middleton. Her first dream in twenty-five years ought to be enchanting, but her wonder quickly turns to shock when she realizes that it’s not a dream at all, but an entirely different sort of magic. Catapulted through an ancient portal into the fairytale kingdom of Between, Sasha’s astonishment is swiftly upgraded to panic when she accidentally performs a supposedly impossible feat and is declared the True Queen of Between.

The Story was a little slow in the beginning, but…
Revisado: 12-04-23
Part one of this book, read by Emily Ellet was wonderful! I was hoping against hope that part two would be a continuation, but instead it was the same story from Lorn, The Shadow King’s, perspective. Superfluous and just plain silly. Steve West did a fine job, but his sexy voice was certainly not put to good use chasing around the critters of Between. I listen with earbuds and his conversations with his shadow were loud and obnoxious. The arguments between the Kings of Otherworld were long and boring. If you’re going to purchase this book just stop after part 1. That story got better and better and I am looking forward to book 2 where I’m hoping Sasha and Lorn will have more laughable but meaningful conversations. Shirt on or off.

For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

Historia
Having somehow convinced Lady Annika Jenoure to marry him, all Finlay Ashowan wants to do is settle down, cook some good meals, and enjoy a quiet life in Daxaria. But fate has different plans. Fin’s father, Aidan Helmer, fire witch and servant of King Matthias of Troivack, has arrived in the kingdom with devastating news: Annika’s brother Charles has been taken prisoner, and the only way his life will be spared is if Annika or Fin goes to plead his case. Given that an attack from Troivack is imminent, there’s no way some trickery isn’t involved in this plot.

Wonderful story! Great narration!
Revisado: 03-07-23
I loved all three of these books. I was so sad when they ended, though the set-up for a fourth book was clearly recognizable. Delemhach makes you feel as though you are listening to history rather than fiction, with suspense, humor and romance only part of the world he has created. Matthew Wolf is a wonderful narrator. It truly is hard to believe you are listening to one man. I will certainly look for his narration in other books. Loved it!!

Historia
As a wielder of domestic magic, Finlay Ashowan likes to keep his affairs as neat and orderly as his kitchen. But between his work for the King and Queen of Daxaria and a new (secret) relationship with Lady Annika Jenoure, his life is anything but tidy. For one thing, if Annika and Fin are to continue their romance, they’ll need to sort out the pesky issue of Fin’s being a commoner—before Annika is forced into a political marriage that interferes with her own carefully laid plans. For another, pressure is mounting as the war with Troivack draws ever closer.

What a fun way to spend my time. I love these books. I love the narrator and the characters. I’m so happy that book 3 is finally here! I think if I were a witch I would be a house witch for certain. Perhaps I already am 🤨😁 Time to get my listen on!

Historia
In retreat from a devastating loss and crushing injustice, Katie lives alone in a fortresslike stone house on Jacob’s Ladder island. Once a rising star in the art world, she finds refuge in her painting. The neighboring island of Ringrock houses a secret: a government research facility. And now two agents have arrived on Jacob’s Ladder in search of someone—or something—they refuse to identify. Although an air of menace hangs over these men, an infinitely greater threat has arrived, one so strange even the island animals are in a state of high alarm.

Revisado: 02-05-23
I love Dean Koontz. His mastery of the English language is top notch. I also agree with many of his beliefs. I was hoping to love this book. I did not. I listened to it to its conclusion, but it is a story that has been told so many times, in one incarnation or another, that I just wanted to finish it and move on. The narration was fine, the story was weak.

Historia
When Finlay Ashowan joins the staff of the King and Queen of Daxaria, he’s an enigma. No one knows where he comes from or how he came to be where he is, which suits Fin just fine. He’s satisfied simply serving as the royal cook, keeping nosy passersby out of his kitchen, and concocting some truly uncanny meals. But Fin’s secret identity doesn’t stay hidden for long. After all, it’s not every day a house witch and his kitten familiar, Kraken, take to meddling in imperial affairs.

Revisado: 01-14-23
This is my favorite series on Audible! Matthew Wolf is one of the finest narrator’s out there! The story is so funny, and Mr. Wolf’s interpretation so good, that I find myself laughing out loud. In these troubling times that laughter is worth more than I can say. I just listened to book one for the third time and I’m moving on to book two, again. It’s as useful as a therapist and much less costly. Thank you Delemhach for your wonderful prose and witty banter. The romance portion is perfect! I hope the series will go on and on.

Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Highly Entertaining!
Revisado: 09-17-22
I have such a hard time believing any of the reviews I read on this platform. Many of the reviews I read about this book should have kept me from listening. I’m glad they did not.
Number one, I loved the narrator! Extremely easy to listen to with wonderful diction. That goes a long way with me. I did not hear one mispronounced word. Set on speed 1.0, he was perfect!
Number two, the Fairy Tale itself had a good beginning, good middle, albeit a little long, and a rock solid ending. I found nothing blasphemous or offensive. It was for the most part, quite sweet. Dogs, if you are a dog lover, are very motivating, so I found Radar’s character quite necessary to the story.
Number 3, I wasn’t looking for fantasy, though there was quite a bit of it, I get enough of that from Sarah J Mass and others like her. I was looking for a good old-fashioned fairy tale, complete with a happy ending. I loved the references to many of the fairy tales I read as a child that I now read to my grandchildren. I thought them very insightful and intelligent, with enough twists and turns in the new fairy tale to make them relevant.
It’s been quite some time since I’ve enjoyed Mr. King’s work. I’m happy to say I’m glad I gave this book a listen. I will, in time, listen to it again.

As a hurricane rushes towards the island, she shelters the handsome stranger, names him “Monty”, and tries to uncover the mystery of his missing memory. She soon finds herself falling in love with a man she barely knows, and who doesn’t even know himself. The Mountain and the Sea is a romantic tale about letting go of the past and embracing the present.

I really enjoyed this book. Sassy, strong women, sexy, hunky guys who don’t know they’re hunks. Have I read it all before, of course, but the story line was different enough not to notice. CJ Bloom did a good job and Lee Samuels, well, he sounds like a dreamy guy should sound. Looking forward to more from Codi Hall.
