Another hit from one of my favorite authors!

I was initially hesitant because of the early reviews but I was extremely wrong to wait, I loved this book!! If you like the author's writing style, this another wonderful addition to their lineup you need to jump on right away. From doggo snack gods to a crotchety old time god, the characters are excellent and hilarious. The multi-layered aspect to the story keeps it engaging and fun. Basically just buy it now!

Another Hit!

This book admittedly took me a few attempts to get into but once I did, this became another wonderful series from this author that I know have to buy the rest of. Yes, this book's MC isn't for everybody and I can see why others wouldn't enjoy it, but for me, I ended up smiling every time I heard "JUBLIEEEE!"

The MC is self-admittedly dumb but it provides for a completely open take on the world and for a wholesome and innocent, if extremely naive, character. I personally loved it and it's got multiple sequels so if you do like it, there's more where it came from, not just a one-off. I also highly recommend all of the author's other series. They're all equally unique but have the distinct touch of the author's writing style.

Very wholesome, wonderful and engaging characters, and a very interesting world all combine to make an amazing story and one I'm absolutely invested in, I can't wait for the next book!

Absolutely Awesome!

This book was almost tailor-made for me, it's like the author combined two of my favorite series just to appeal to me. This book is like if you took Jason Asano from He Who Fights With Monsters and put him into a Beware of Chicken style story, but focused on fishing instead of farming. Tl;dr - this is another series that I'll be buying everything of as soon as it comes out!

Love this book/ series

I have been a fan of this series since I first picked up a paperback copy of Prince of Thorns and have reread it dozens of times. The audiobook brings Jorg to life and you really get a sense of the character. The story is very dark but, imo, extremely interesting and can be quite thought-provoking. It's a medieval fantasy with an MC that's an emotionally broken killer while only being in his teens. He comes across like a psychopath at first but, as the story unfolds, you realize there are very few good people in this world and he's less of a demon than he first appears. His father? A cold-blooded viper of a man that manages to be even worse than the MC and that's one of the least of his adversaries. The story is dark because the era is dark, the MC is a ba**ard because he needs to be one to achieve his goals. His is a character forged in tragedy and violence, where he learned as a child that kindness and honor are simply weaknesses that, not only will others use them against you, but in this brutal world it will probably be your death.

Short answer? Buy this book and the rest, you'll probably be just as hooked as me and will come back to listen again and again

Love it!

If you liked the first, hurry up and buy this one! Joy is back and, just like the first novel, the narrator brings her (and everyone else!) to life and really makes the story hit home. it's relatively lighthearted most of the time, but the story never fails to bring a smile to my face, or the occasional tear to my eye for that matter.

Amazing story!

Absolutely loved it! I loved the first book and was crazy excited when I saw this was coming out. The narrator continues to bring the characters to life, and that coupled with the excellent writing style combine to deliver an excellent sequel in a series that I'm greatly looking forward to continuing! PS, also check out the Final Core audiobook by this author, I'm eagerly anticipating the release of its sequel as well!

Absolutely loved it! Great character and he's really brought to life by the narrator! Loved the book and I'll be buying the next, but you should also check out more narrated by Jeff Hays. He's a phenomenal narrator!
