They got rid of every reason why I love this book. I do not remember how many jokes per page were crammed into it, but there were significantly less in this version. All my favorite scenes as well as an entire character were eliminated. Jeanine added significantly to the humor of the book but her entire presence was all but gone. however, I will say that the book being read by the author was very well done and probably the best production of an audible book that I have heard yet. That, at least, added some life back into the book. Do not let this version determine what you make of Dirk Gently's holistic detective agency. I have been passionate about it since I was 12 and this was a bit of a disappointment.

The narrators were too exaggerated and their voices for other characters were so aggravating. The writing was slow. The actual story doesn't pick up until over halfway through the book. The crime is about killing a species of fish, and it's like every typical who-done-it book. I was forced to read this for a book report, and I had nothing great to say in that either. Don't waste your time when there are plenty of other books.
