Historia
From the author of the classic mysteries starring the irrepressible CIA spy, Mrs. Pollifax, comes a delightfully different mystery with a most unholy twist. Filled with all the hilarious surprises and good old-fashioned suspense that her fans have come to love, A Nun in the Closet is the story of two high-spirited nuns who accidentally stumble into a dangerous plot involving ghosts, gangsters, and Protestants.

Charming and funny!

A darling book! Loved the narrator, too. Sister John and Sister Hyacinth are my new role models :) Funny and adventurous with good social commentary thrown in.

Historia
On his 44th birthday, Eric Newby sets out on an incredible journey: to travel the 1,200-mile length of India's holy river. In a misguided attempt to keep him out of trouble, Wanda, his lifelong travel companion and wife, is to be his fellow boatwoman. Their plan is to begin in the great plain of Hardwar and finish in the Bay of Bengal, but the journey almost immediately becomes markedly slower and more treacherous than either had imagined - running aground 63 times in the first six days.

A delightful classic!
Revisado: 01-27-20
Carefully observed, humerous, with care for the people he meets, the great Eric Newby takes us on a real adventure--with classic English good humor in tight spots and none of the modern expedition gear or comforts we have today! Great narrator. It's abridged, but still so worthwhile. Definitely worth also reading the hard copy to get the full wonderful story and humor.

Historia
One of the most significant books ever written by a head of state, the Meditations are a collection of philosophical thoughts by the Emperor Marcus Aurelius (121 - 180 ce). Covering issues such as duty, forgiveness, brotherhood, strength in adversity and the best way to approach life and death, the Meditations have inspired thinkers, poets and politicians since their first publication more than 500 years ago. Today, the book stands as one of the great guides and companions - a cornerstone of Western thought.
