a very good book

this is a very good book. in all the ways i was unsatisfied with the last installment of this series this book turned it all around.

bland but fun

The main character is bland to the extreme. he does cool stuff and just doesn't care. This is a fun concept and not horribly written. it's the main character going from fight to fight only mentioning companions sometimes and treating all of his negative and positive experiences as things to be ignored. he kept one person as an enemy and thats pretty much it.

This is a very well written story that stays on concept. unlike other stories that just make their characters adventurers and then forget their twist on this genre this story remembers that are protagonist is a fisherman. I still feel like he's not exploring his abilities enough... contradictory compliment and criticism here.

I stayed awake two nights in a row to finish this book. its a fantastic addition to the whole story.

a great start. a bad follow through

this book set up a lot of interesting things in the beginning. issues like an priest working as an assassin in a political intrigue situation but the follow-through and end of it is just that it's not an issue. Even the main character getting thrown in jail happened not because he was caught for all the murders but because of the "bad guy" decided to throw him in jail for something that was easily disproven. The female lead without ever arguing with the main character about morals and where they want to go in life was shown to have the exact same desires and interests as your MC without ever discussing it with him. This story didn't have enough issues to warrant the goddess showing up feeling cool and interesting. I really wanted to like this book and at first I did. The authors made the MC act as an NPC for the first part of the book and it was genuinely interesting to see him using the system to improve his NPC job in little ways. and yeah even his first assassination was a cool thing but there weren't any issues ie: guards asking around, anything to increase the stakes. The dungeon was pretty good and the half work was a wonderful villain but then he left.

slow build

this had a super slow and repetitive first half. It did tie up a bunch of loose ends but i still find myself disappointed by the first half of the book. Still love these stories please keep writing.
