Historia
Jill and Derick knew a normal life wasn’t possible for them. As a star on the popular TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting, Jill grew up in front of viewers who were fascinated by her family’s way of life. She was the responsible, second daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle’s nineteen kids; always with a baby on her hip and happy to wear the modest ankle-length dresses with throat-high necklines.

Not what I expected - very religious
Revisado: 02-09-23
This book focuses largely on the exposure of Bill Gothard and the IBLP church.
It’s very religious, and she quotes a lot of scripture and speak a lot about god.
If you want a lesson in god, and hear about the terrible cult like church she was raised- than buy this book.
If you’re looking for a biography of Jinger Duggar this book is far from that.
She ends the book nicely, but it take awhile to get there.

Historia
Tara Westover was 17 the first time she set foot in a classroom. Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, she prepared for the end of the world by stockpiling home-canned peaches. In the summer she stewed herbs for her mother, a midwife and healer, and in the winter she salvaged in her father's junkyard. Her father forbade hospitals, so Tara never saw a doctor or nurse. Gashes and concussions, even burns from explosions, were all treated at home with herbalism. Then, lacking any formal education, Tara began to educate herself. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge.

Makes you angry and annoyed
Revisado: 07-04-22
I found myself so angry and annoyed as I read this book. I felt like it left a lot of open ended questions. It’s border line child abuse the way the parents treat these kids, hard to believe this is based on the actual life of Tara.
I did finish the book but I didn’t love it. Would I recommend it? - probably not.

This was a surprise for me. I’m not a dog lover, and would never choose this on my own. I read this books for a book club. It was sweet, I actually learned a lot about shelters that I never knew. It’s an easy listen, good for the soul.

Narration is terrible- Story is beautifully written
Revisado: 10-12-20
Story was beautiful. A great historical novel that does inspire you to want to know more about the Lindbergh’s.
Narrator was terrible, I stopped listening 2 times before coming back to finish the book over several month.
Narrator was old and I found her voice unbelievable for the youthful characters. Narrator was also not great at disguising voices for each character as other good narrators can do.

Mixed Review!
Revisado: 08-18-19
The first half of the book I spend thinking wow Grant is an arrogant typical sales person! I turned it off several times with a large sigh and eye roll.
But I kept coming back and listening to more.
By the time I reached half way I was hooked. His arrogance turned into motivation.
I ended up listening to the entire book and left feeling inspired.
I will even listen to it again and take better notes and start to implement his teachings.
One small critique- he gives Scientology a few plugs... again sigh and eye roll.

Historia
In this short and powerful book, network marketing experts Ray and Jessica Higdon teach you proven strategies for marketing and prospecting that allow you to navigate your way through the social media maze and achieve freakishly effective results for your business. Social media has been called the “gold rush” of the 21st century - a new, unchartered world where people in virtually every industry have found fame and fortune. This includes network marketing. The trouble is, as with the gold rush of the mid-1800s, the wild west atmosphere has left a lot of network marketers feeling lost and confused.

This is a quick, great listen!
Some really great tips and tools.
I will listen several more times to make notes and fully capture their teachings on my own social media pages!
The narration was great, I really enjoyed the duo! I think it was a nice change and it broke up the monotony of a single speaker.
I’m actually really inspired with Ray and Jessica in general and will purchase more of their audio books in the future!

Good book on Sales!
Revisado: 07-29-19
Worth a read for sure!
Simple techniques that everyone should learn.
The audio quality is not great, you can hear pages turning and people in the background, but it’s insignificant and not bothersome.
I did find that some of the techniques are a little bit old school. Reminds me of everything I hated when sales people would visit me.
I will re listen to this book several times to make notes on the things I found valuable.
