Historia
In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

Deeply moving and insightful
Revisado: 01-04-19
I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn about Ms. Obama’s background and the struggles she has faced with such grace and dignity. The narration was great and gave even more meaning to the words. This is a long book but every detail seemed important. I’m glad she had the courage to write it.

Fascinating story; endless detail
Revisado: 11-11-18
Like so much of history that doesn’t fit into a tidy package for textbooks written by white men; I had never heard of the Osage murders. This meticulously researched book presents an important story that deserves to be remembered. My only criticism is the excruciating detail of every aspect of the case. It took far to long to get to part 2 and the real heart of the story: White’s investigation and the intersection of the FBI origin story.

A Forgotten Story from WWII
Revisado: 02-17-18
Not for the faint of heart, this history is well worth the time. Kudos to the author for reminding us of these heroes of the Pacific Campaign. Great narration.

Historia
When Germany invaded Poland, bombers devastated Warsaw - and the city's zoo along with it. With most of their animals dead, zookeepers Jan and Antonina Zabinski began smuggling Jews into the empty cages. Another dozen "guests" hid inside the Zabinskis' villa, emerging after dark for dinner, socializing, and, during rare moments of calm, piano concerts.

Brings to life an untold story
Revisado: 05-29-17
This narrative is by turns engrossing in describing the risks this courageous family took; and then a bit tedious when covering less than essential side stories (such as the fate of an insect collection or the philosophy of breeding to revive extinct species). Nevertheless it is an important contribution to our knowledge of WW II atrocities.
