Historia
Allen Carr's Easyway is the most successful self-help stop-smoking method of all time. It has helped millions of smokers all over the world to quit and has since been used to treat other addictions such as drinking and gambling. Allen Carr's Easyway method works by unravelling the brainwashing that leads us to desire the very thing that is harming us, meaning that we are freed from the addiction rather than merely restricting our behaviour. The Easyway method has now been applied to the problem of emotional eating.

SO REPETITIVE!
Revisado: 11-16-24
The whole book feels like someone saying, “in a minute I’ll explain the steps,” but they never get to the steps. It’s so repetitive!

Historia
We can only anchor, nurture, nourish and instill confidence in our children when we extend the same support to ourselves. After all, how can we effectively tend to our children's needs when our energy reserves are depleted? There are a thousand and one ways to parent, and only one way that's authentic for you. Drawing on her work as a psychotherapist, alongside her own experiences as a mother, Anna shows that caring with our children begins with caring for ourselves, and it's time to replace exhaustion with empowerment.

There was nothing in this that was useful.

There was nothing in this that was useful.

I guess it’s well written, but nothing in this book was particularly insightful and there were no real tips on how to actually take care of ourselves more. It was just more “you really should take care of yourself.”

Historia
Raised in the Christian patriarchy movement, Cait West was homeschooled and could only wear clothes her father deemed modest. She was five years old the first time she was told her swimsuit was too revealing, to go change. There would be no college in her future, no career. She was a stay-at-home daughter and would move out only when her father allowed her to become a wife. She was trained to serve men, and her life would never be her own.

Compelling narrative and beautifully written

Slow, but good.
Revisado: 05-19-24
I expected something different, but it was pretty good. It was slow and boring through a good portion of the book. Some of it seemed like irrelevant stories that didn’t get to the meat of the issues, but as someone from a similar background I appreciate her point of view.
