Historia
Where power is measured in cards, Arthur stands among the elite as a Legendary card wielder now forever linked to a frighteningly powerful dragon. Or Brixaby will be once he grows from the size of a parrot. Before that can happen, a chance encounter whisks Arthur and Brixaby away to a place they never thought possible: A new dragon hive outside the kingdom. This Free Hive doesn't suffer from the scourge that's infected the rest of the planet. It's a place where crafting using card powers is king.

that ending!
Revisado: 03-13-24
I love/hate cliffhangers. this book didn't really have one. it had an ending on the next adventure that was the next step on their current adventure. I think it's one of the best ways to end a book. if the author sees this, thank you. great book, great ending
lots of adventure
some description
little romance
some drama
lots of action
I am getting the next book when it comes out.

I have listened to this book 4 times
Revisado: 01-02-24
I have listened to this book 4 times. It is an amazing start. In my opinion, it does an excellent job of laying the groundwork for the best series I have ever listened to. My previous favorite was the wheel of time series. But I wouldn't say the two are very similar. this series is fast paced. The first book isn't as good as the rest of the series as it takes you from knowing nothing to understanding the world in general. I still think it's amazing, it's just the series keeps getting better. I highly recommend it.

Then a message appeared in his vision: [60,000-year countdown has ended] [Nemesis 1 released] [Please acknowledge]. Historia
Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini, born on July 29, 1883, who went by the nickname “Il Duce” (“the Leader”), was a deeply unbalanced tyrannical Italian dictator who created the dreaded Fascist Party in 1919. Eventually, he held all power in Italy as the country’s prime minister from 1922 to 1943. An ardent socialist as a youth, Mussolini followed in his father's political footsteps but was expelled by the party for his overt support of World War I. As an evil dictator during World War II, he greatly overextended his forces and was killed by his own people in Mezzegra, Italy.

I am glad this is here
Revisado: 09-19-23
it's interesting to see how Mussolini viewed his own motivations for his actions. He saw himself as moral and a man of action.
We should see the views of others so that we may better compare ourselves and prove our own motivations.
Just because we see morality in our actions does not mean morals can't change, and the majority won't suffer.

Well done
Revisado: 06-12-23
Some have said it was rushed, others have said the power was unearned, unlike previous books.
I say they are right, but it was right for the book. this was a crescendo of all the build up of the previous books. So the rushed feeling of the book was simply riding an already caught wave. There was no need to build another wave. The use of unearned power was one of the best ways to do this and part of the storyline. It didn't change how much will power Lindon had to have to accomplish his goals. He had to overmatch monarchs and dreadgods in the will to obtain the power. It also matches the theme of the other books on this topic, tying the mental will to overcome and push forward anyway of all the other rushed power increases.
My opinion is that the author did an amazing job on this book. My thanks to the author.
The narrator was the unnoticed medium used to play the story in my mind. Well done. Thank you, narrator.

an excellent author.
Revisado: 04-26-23
I have listened to every book this author has on audible and have been left wanting more after each.
the stories have a wonderful balance between emotion and adventure, conversations and action.
one of my favorite things about stories that others sometimes don't like is when a character gets lost in building something up. looking at the angles of how to build it better. this story has that but doesn't make it overwhelming other aspects of the story.
