Historia
From batting averages and political polls to game shows and medical research, the real-world application of statistics continues to grow by leaps and bounds. How can we catch schools that cheat on standardized tests? How does Netflix know which movies you'll like? What is causing the rising incidence of autism? As best-selling author Charles Wheelan shows us in Naked Statistics, the right data and a few well-chosen statistical tools can help us answer these questions and more.

Historia
i>Imagined Communities, Benedict Anderson's brilliant book on nationalism, forged a new field of study when it first appeared in 1983. Since then it has sold over a quarter of a million copies and is widely considered the most important book on the subject. In this greatly anticipated revised edition, Anderson updates and elaborates on the core question: What makes people live and die for nations, as well as hate and kill in their names?

Interesting, but ultimately deeply flawed analysis
Revisado: 10-20-16
This is overall a fairly well articulated extended argument for familiar American conservative policy positions. However, the analysis is deeply flawed by the exclusive overuse of favoured think tank research and lack of fullsome engagement with the breadth of literature on each considered topic. While it is rhetorically well executed, it indulges far too often in the temptation to construct straw men and misrepresentations of opposing arguments. Therefore, the book will likely be well recieved by those who already agree in advance with the author's conclusions, but it will likely not be convincing to undecided readers.

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.
