But after suffering a fractured skull in a vicious mugging, he reluctantly accepts the fact that he has a long and brutal recovery to face - and his closest of kin can provide him with the time and place to do it. Now, Jeff is haunted by unexplained visions of a heinous crime - a banker, stalked, killed, and eviscerated like a 10-point buck. When Matt Sumner's murder is discovered, a still-recovering Jeff realizes this was what he had seen. Jeff must not only convince himself of his new-found psychic ability, but also his skeptical brother, Richard Alpert.

I would and will be recommending it as it is an excellent story and wonderful narration.

One of the most memorable moments was when Jeff convinced his brother to go hunt for the dead man's viscera with him, knowing he couldn't shovel.

Yes, I have listened to other Steven Barnett performances, and this is one of my favorite.

Plot 9 Performance 4
Revisado: 07-24-15
What made the experience of listening to The Thief the most enjoyable?
A very enjoyable mystery.
What other book might you compare The Thief to and why?
At this time I can't compare it to another book because I can't think of another left quite so open ended, because I don't for a minute believe that everyone really dies and that is really the end.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
No, I found the narration slow and monotone pretty much throughout.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The moments that most moved me were when the cops broke into Jarrod apartment and found him half dead( though being a paramedic once they described the stench,i knew. It is not one you forget) . The other was when they told Eric Jarrod was dead, even I wasn't expecting that. I kept thinking it had to be a trick being played by the cops, but now it doesn't seem so.
Any additional comments?
A thoroughly enjoyable story despite the lackluster performance of the narrator.

You never know where life is going to take you
Revisado: 07-03-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, because it is a well written, well narrated mystery. It gets your attention and you don't want to stop listening until it is done.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Katie,, who else. She is a strong brave women. I don't think I'd be able to move on and take on all that she has, and quite successfully, so soon after my husband's death.
What does Jorjeana Marie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
A lot can be missed in just reading the book because gives special meaning to the words by how the words are spoken, inflection, speed, pauses. They can make the book much more exciting than just reading the page.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Katie and Vance's nephew were being held up by Tracy and she found out that the accident that killed her husband was not an accident as was believed by everyone, even the police, but was actually a murder committed by Tracy.
Any additional comments?
Lorraine Bartlett is an excellent author and her books don't have to have a narrator to make them any better. I loved this one and can't wait to see what more is to come. Her character, Katie, make an excellent protagonist for this series.

A blessing and a curse
Revisado: 05-12-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Memory Man to be better than the print version?
The voices of the characters change with the words spoken. I have grown used to having one narrator, having 2, one male, and one female was a brilliant change. It was very easy to know who was speaking even when each was playing more than one character.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Definitely! With all the twists and turns in this book you never knew where to look, except too try to peer part the corners for the next twist or turn.
Which scene was your favorite?
The final one, where his comrades in Amy's knew where to find him and how to get him to come along.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I felt very bad for the main character ,i can't think of his name right now. It seems since the hard hit he took on the field and he just kept taking them.

Revisado: 03-27-15
Where does Bound by Suggestion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Third after Toby Neal and John Grisham
What other book might you compare Bound by Suggestion to and why?
I haven't heard another book I could compare it, except maybe Murder on the Mind. That would be the case because it is the same author and narrator and know I enjoy their collaborations.
Which character – as performed by Steven Barnett – was your favorite?
Jeff. He plays him so well. It is more than just reading, it's acting without the Stage or television set. You can actually hear the pain in Jeff's voice when he is suffering emotionally and especially when he gets one of his migraines.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Jeff opened the old woman's freezer and found the boy.
Any additional comments?

one sitting
Any additional comments?
This book was laugh out loud funny, which can be embarrassing when you are listening to an audio book, depending on where you are. The namesake story wa the funniest by far. I am very glad to have grown up around men and women who always knew their way around a hardware store, or at least were willing to admit it when they were in over their heads, before things got to bad off. Well worth the read or the listen, especially if you need to laugh. .

Would you listen to Cheated by Death again? Why?
Yes, great plot and characters, great narrator.
What did you like best about this story?
The story line
Any additional comments?
Cheated by Death is an excellent addition to the series. The plot with all of the unexpected twists and turns, left me always wondering what was coming next. My favorite character was Jeff Resnick .I listened to this as an Audible book. There were times when the women sounded the same, But the writer wrote it in such a way it made it easy to tell who was who. That small detail did not hurt the plot or the development of the characters. Other than that detail the narrator did an excellent job.
