Perfect work!

I will immediately begin to read everything by this writer. The artist has a beautiful writing style and the time/angle shifts in plot are expertly done.
This book is an obvious feat for all involved.

Could not possibly be worse
Revisado: 11-30-24
Shockingly bad. Comically bad!
The guy pauses between each paragraph for a long enough period of time that you could go out for coffee while he audibly swallows and breathes.
There’s also the sometimes utterly meaningless sentence structure and complete lack of even the basic skills one might potentially cobble together in a fifth grade creative writing class.
Someone needs their toys taken away.

For the record…Fred Trump never asked for any of this. The divisive politics. The endless headlines. A hijacked last name. The heat-seeking uncle, rising from real estate scion to gossip column fixture to The Apprentice host to President of the United States. Fred just wanted a happy life and a satisfying career. But a fight for his son’s health and safety forced him onto a center stage that he had never wanted. And now, at a crucial point for our nation, he is stepping forward again. In All in the Family, Fred delves into his journey to become a “different kind of Trump.”

Just not good
Revisado: 10-08-24
I detest the subject of this book but listening to a trust fund kid tell you, in a hokey, folksy way of writing on a 9th grade level, that he made it all on his own and how the Trump name only held him back.
There are plenty of books on this subject. Skip this one. While he may not be the monster his uncle is, he’s no writer either.

Historia
The January 6th attack is an unprecedented crime in American history. Sprawling and openly political, it can't be handled by the traditional rules and norms of law enforcement—threatening the very idea of justice and its role in society. A mass of online tipsters—"sedition hunters"—have mobilized, simultaneously providing the FBI with valuable intelligence. In this work of extraordinary reportage, Ryan Reilly gets to know would-be revolutionaries, obsessive online sleuths, and FBI agents, and shines a light on a justice system that's straining to maintain order in our polarized country.

Meh
Revisado: 04-01-24
I’m not sure the author wrote or even previously read this book.
What I thought were speech issues with pronunciation eventually became obvious ignorance of the words and even sentences themselves.
He literally says “statute” for “statue” 4 times in a row (as in ‘they attempted to remove the statute of Jackson by pouring gasoline onto the statute’) the and that’s far from the worst one.
Who can’t pronounce Marine Corps?! Who would say Marine Corpse? Is he 6 years old?
Gas mass is a good one.
Mostly, it’s the reading of sentences as though he doesn’t know what they mean. Emphasis in the wrong places to the extent the meaning is changed.
“We wore gas mass so we wouldn’t cough and hack ourselves.” Not read as ‘so we too don’t cough and hack’ but as ‘I coughed and hacked (on) myself’.
He does provide many details I hadn’t read anywhere else.
He could also stand to be more objective. Not because I disagree with his obvious opinions here but because objectivity just makes for better writing.

Historia
In this comprehensive examination of Nazi occultism, Stephen E. Flowers, Ph.D., offers a critical history and analysis of the occult and esoteric streams of thought active in the Third Reich and the growth of occult Nazism at work in movements today. Sharing the culmination of five decades of research into primary and secondary sources, many in the original German, Flowers looks at the symbolic, occult, scientific, and magical traditions that became the foundations from which the Nazi movement would grow.

Great book, terrible narrator

I can listen to it again and again to catch it all despite how bad the narrator and his otherworldly pronunciations of common words he’s clearly never heard is.

Great subject, bad writing
Revisado: 01-22-24
Pretty amateurish work. Author injects his life and feelings to the extent that it makes for a folksy tale (about murder).
Your readers shouldn’t know your wife’s name, much less have to listen to you use it as though we were all on a first name basis.
It could also help not to include asinine observations like “I reminded myself to get the recipe for her zucchini dish” (while he is interviewing someone about a murder).
I tried but I can’t deal with this terrible writing and I won’t be trying with Olsen again.

Amateurish
Revisado: 12-29-23
Not a professional job. Bad writing, even mid level grammar is off. The writer hired to help shape this up must not have been very good either.
If you can stomach the usual podcaster inclination toward injecting themselves and their lackluster life stories into the ones they research, then you are halfway there. You won’t find yourself fast forging to hear about the thing you actually cared about when you bought the book. The other half of the journey would be that you haven’t read very many true crime books.
The result here is a convoluted mess.
The writer managed to fail at what is easily one of the hottest true crime stories of our time when she had it on a platter.
She topped this mess off by reading it herself, to exactly the end result of any author who does not read or perform professionally (and even some who do).

Historia
Mike Rinder’s parents began taking him to their local Scientology center when he was five years old. After high school, he signed a billion-year contract and was admitted into Scientology’s elite inner circle, the Sea Organization. Brought to founder L. Ron Hubbard’s yacht and promised training in Hubbard’s most advanced techniques, Rinder was instead put to work swabbing the decks. Still, Rinder bought into the doctrine that his personal comfort was secondary to the higher purpose of Hubbard’s world-saving mission.

Don’t bother
Revisado: 12-21-23
There are much better cult books but Rinder doesn’t come off as, or honestly seem interested in portraying himself as, a decent person. He seems like a terrible and emotionless child. He skips over any reasoning behind leaving the cult and it comes across as very dishonest, as does much of the rest.

Gerald and Charlene Gallego made for terrifying partners in crime. An attractive brunette, Charlene Gallego had no trouble luring innocent youths into her car with the promise of work or marijuana. An unquenchable serial killer, Gerald Gallego would later rape and murder them at remote locations instead. The serial killer couple terrorized the city of Sacramento for two long years before carelessness got them caught. Their California killing spree from 1978 to 1980 left nine women raped before being bludgeoned or shot to death, and one man killed outright. Disturbingly, most of the victims ...

Troglodyte reading YouTube pages and giving you all the “gory details”. That part is didn’t appreciate. Some of us are interested in the human mind and not the “40 whacks”, Cletus.
You will hear the requisite calling card “Apple dint fawl far from the tree, did she?”
Almost as fun as the incredulous scoffing between “what do you expects”.
Junk it. This should never make it past Uncle Jerry’s asserts bin of homemade prank calls.
