whole book feels like justification of pulling nether into the story. was okay. feel like one of the bottom books in the series. still enjoyed but some of these novels are dramatically better than this.

like this author. brings legit military stuff onto fantasy. the 90s nostalgia is great here. Just felt like it was written in one go with very little effort to make it amazing. hope the series gets better.

the good. it ties everything up.

the bad. way overwritten. been with this since cycle of Arawn. feels 4 books too long and this finale just has me saying... just die already. let this universe implode and cease to exist.

other. please start something new and don't overwrite it.

started strong. didn't get better thru book. liked mc and back story. characters were good but didn't get depth over time.

the first book is amazing. second was almost as good. third was such a downer. fourth almost made me quit. this one was good.

the good is solid and intriguing overall story progression. a lot less yasna or however that is spelled. Aiden has really good stuff. Galinar has excellent story.

the bad is no awesome moments or very few at the end. needed way more editing. pace could be better.

the ugly and why many hate this book is woke garbage identity politics inserted into a series where it was never part of the culture before. no upside here. I almost returned it when 25 percent thru the book this stuff is shoehorned onto me.

book is excellent work with unnecessary baggage. needs editing and to not humanize wit. leave wit crazy. and please quit benching kaladin. series would be much better if kaladin was doing more warrior items.

This Series Started Strong and Just Fell Off

From book one, felt this was just okay. The longer it went, the less I enjoyed it.

The Main Character acts like a Middle School Boy with a crush. No matter how many horrors, responsibilities, and other contacts are made, he is still a little boy with a crush. Other characters mature, but not MC. Always little boy with crush. Mommy and Daddy treat him like little Timmy all the time.

The world and plot is good and the narration is good.

Not an awesome anything. Didn't feel cheated but just getting annoyed with the series more and more. Enough to stop.

That Second Book was Rough, but This Third Book...

Excellent novel coming off of that last novel. Really enjoyed every part of this. The tie in with military history and weaving of a very Conan like character with a cohesive story line. It was great!

social justice in the apocolypse

this series started out great like most of this authors work. it becomes formulaic writing after book 2. sad really. the main character is always a high ideal guy who puts his female companions first and become blind to the world. makes the same mistakes no matter how many failures. mc sucks. the other characters are dumb and go along with the terrible plans of a main character with plot armor who gets innocent people killed on the regular because he is so dumb. done with this author. never changes.

DNF First Book Not Great This was worse

I have no idea. it's a good idea. the characters aren't interesting. narrator doesn't bring it to life. I got to 90% and just was thinking, I'm better off not knowing what happens cause I just don't care.
