If you enjoyed Godwin’s other books, you will enjoy this one. First time listening to this narrator, he does an excellent job. Solid all the way around.

Waste of time

The author spends a great deal of time discussing physics. For example, he spends a ton of time discussing the difference between momentum and kinetic energy. But never tells you how to develop either. The author puts me in mind of someone who never progressed much passed a white belt. The book is heavy on scientific terms and explanations but zero on take away for a martial artist wanting to improve his skill.

Doesn’t measure up!

Credits to RC brave on the audio. He does an exceptional job as always.However the author doesn’t do the character justice. If you took out all the references to drinking you would have a short novella.

It’s a love story drama that just happens to take place during the apocalypse. It focuses more on the social drama then the act of survival. It’s a decent listen, just not my cup of tea.

Having seen the movie first, the book is good if not a little long winded. One off putting tangents in the book is when the author proclaims God doesn’t exist. It’s a tangent that is unnecessary for character or story development.

As far as Will Wheaton performance, he wouldn’t get the worst narrator award, maybe just an honorable mention. He could give a Speak and Spell a challenge on who could be the most monotone!

Overall, the book is filled with tons of 80s trivia & facts, to the point it takes away from the story. If you didn’t like the Matrix or the movie, or the 80s, take a pass.

Great book!!!

This is a great opening book in a new series from Goodwin. If you like Goodwin’s other novels, you’ll like this one. I would rate this book as one of my favorites. The characters are relatable and many of the topics used in the book are taken from current headlines. I’m eagerly waiting the second installment!

Better than the book 1

Would you consider the audio edition of Commune: Book Two to be better than the print version?

RC Bray is one of the best and does an incredible job. Bray does a great job bringing the character Gibbs to life. Be warned he is a former Marine and talks like it. But, I found it to hysterical dialogue.

Typical cookie cutter story

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This book was average. Nothing truly imaginative. The typical, bad thing happens and the majority of the world goes mad max almost overnight. I could of use a little more character development or story. Overall, average.

Would you be willing to try another book from Tim Washburn? Why or why not?

I would give Washburn another try. His writing style is excellent and flows well and is easy to listen too.
