Historia
Often, when leaders experience trouble, they look to blame an outside source or expect a small tweak to right their ship. But many times they've actually lost their grip on the very basic foundation of leadership. The business environment may change, but no management trend can displace the core laws, proven over centuries, of excellent leadership. Unusually Excellent is an essential resource for leaders that brings these fundamentals together in a new and comprehensive way.

My favorite leadership book!
Revisado: 07-14-24
I've read the physical book twice over the years, and now I've added the audiobook to my library for further reference and ease of access.
This is by far my favorite book on leadership, because as Hamm states, "understanding leadership is a systems understanding--nothing happens in a silo." Too often, leadership is looked at through such a simplistic lens that it is difficult to grasp the nuances of what distinguishes the good leaders from the truly excellent ones.
Here, the author provides such a holistic view of the underlying principles and their interrelatedness that you cannot help but better understand why leadership is no easy endeavor. However, because the principles are accompanied by practices that you can incorporate into your own journey, you won't feel overwhelmed by the daunting challenges.
This is a book you will read and reread and revisit over the years to continue to strengthen and reinforce your leadership capabilities.
