Historia
Caden hasn’t believed in fated mates since he was a cub. He figures it’s more of a fairytale that shifter parents tell their kids than the reality of what passes for mates in some of the packs he’s seen. But then he comes face-to-face with a human man who smells like orange blossoms and radiates authority and safety.

Historia
Blessed by the gods and goddesses, edoli have lived alongside humans for thousands of years. While some hold such abilities as shape-shifting and controlling the elements, the rarest are the kings and queens who can bond through blood with keepers and amplify their power...and their own. Titos has been seen as useless and weak his entire life. He's never been able to bond with another edoli and has nothing of value to offer his queen. When a stranger saves him from certain death, Titos's life will never be the same.

Decent story and has a narrator who carries it
Revisado: 03-18-25
If I was reading this instead of listening I would have lost interest a couple of times with all the spicy scenes as this group got to know each other. I would have rather there been a better way to develop the relationships especially before the L word got tossed around. The narrator helped to keep me interested. There also could have been more world building. I think Cael was just as frustrated as I was. We also know very little about each love interest so there is a lack of depth there too. I’m interested in seeing where this story line goes but there needs to be a deepening of everything I mentioned above. Having a good narrator will only carry my interest so far.

Historia
Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error. It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you.

I have only regrets
Revisado: 04-29-24
I regret buying this. I didn't even finish and stopped on chapter two because the MC is quite despicable. He straight up canes a 13 year old girl in anger. First he cocks his fist pack to punch her because he "was just so angry" and stops because he's not going to hit a kid of 10. When he's told she's 13 and an adult by that world's standards he immediately joins in caning her and hits her "with everything he had". I agree that what she did was wrong but the organization that she was with were the ones responsible for handing out the punishment. Not him, even when offered. In the middle of the caning he's giddy because he discovered his RPG stats, but still "just so angry". Not saying he didn't have a right to be furious about what happened, but at the same time he has no regrets or moral quandary about causing harm to a young girl. He stood there and watched her continue to be beaten with no discomfort or concern. No second thoughts. No compassion. He's despicable. I'll never pick up another book by this author. I only have regrets that this image is stuck in my head.

Historia
Bailey Ember Gardener Quinn should’ve read the manual on caring for an incubus before marrying hers. The marriage license hadn’t mentioned anything about their sexy, insatiable ways. If she doesn’t get a single night of undisturbed rest soon, she’ll snap - or go on a napalm bender. Either would work. Recruiting Tiffany “Perkette” Perkins to be her partner-in-crime isn’t the best idea, but nothing says fun quite like a road trip, and Perkette the Misdemeanor Collecting Queen could teach the devil a thing or two about having a good time.

Change in Narrator and missing tracks in Ch 18
Revisado: 02-25-20
I love Bailey and Quinn and have relistened to the audiobook of Playing With Fire several times. I loved Courtney Holly's accent and voices for these two. In this continuation of their journey, the narrator has changed. For Bailey's voice we have Nicole Blessing. There is no accent and Bailey sounds a bit whiny instead of sarcastic and full of fire. Bailey doesn't sound like Bailey. The narration for Quinn is a male narrator and he wasn't given credit any place. I know the voice and he did a good job with Quinn even though I still missed the accent. Also, in chapter 18, Janet's dialog is missing. There is just long spans of quiet before Quinn's answering dialog or thoughts. That was quite disappointing.
I did read the book before listening to the audiobook, and really enjoyed the Bailey and Quinn's continuing story. Many questions that did not get answered in Playing with Fire were answered. After reading all the books in this series, I can see some of the main ties to other characters throughout and I'm very curious about where the series is leading us.
Though the narration for this installment was disappointing in spots, the story is still excellent.

I wasn’t sure what to expect and fell in love with this story. It made me laugh and made my heart hurt. Tristol was excellent and so alien, but still conveyed a relevant message in his elegant way. I would happily read more in the world.

Working as the only human barista at a coffee shop catering to the magical is a tough gig on a good day. Bailey Gardener has few options. Unfortunately for her, Faery Fortunes is located in the heart of Manhattan Island, not far from where Police Chief Samuel Quinn works. If she’d been smart, she never would have agreed to help the man find his wife. Bailey found her, all right - in the absolutely worst way possible.

Great Narrator, terrible character
Revisado: 04-11-19
The character was TSTL and his relationship issues, the hard back and forth added no value. The narrator did a great job, but I won't ever be a fan of the main character.

Good Horror/Urban Fantasy
Revisado: 04-11-19
I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. Though I did think the characters could have made a few intuitive leaps from the information they had, instead of dragging some of the reveal of clues out. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Lots of Drama
Revisado: 04-11-19
The story was all right when it came to the mystery plot but tanked in the romance department. The relationship drama got to be too much and I was rolling my eyes so hard because these guys only knew each other for a couple of days. I did not like Evan. His inner thoughts and hostility was over the top, leading to his to stupid to live decision. This series is not for me and I will not be continuing.

DNF Terrible Editing and Incompetent Heroine
Revisado: 11-29-18
I couldn't finish this. It needs an editor because of things like "I swung my gaze from side to side." or "I feathered my cloak over my shoulder.". And this being narrated just highlights every single odd phrasing. The Heroine is also incompetent, bordering on TSTL. She's grow up in the woods but doesn't know not to run from predators? Doesn't know how to defend herself against woodland creatures? At one point she admits to making a lot of mistakes and continues to make more, reacting poorly to every obstacle she encounters. Obviously, this is not for me.
The narration was all right but there was odd pauses in places that should have been seamless thought.
