Lily Chu won me over big time with her first 2 books and I was super excited to dive into the next entertaining adventure. Ugghhh.... this story is so crammed with politically correct issues it feels tiresome. There isn't one character or one situation that doesn't include a hot topic. Same sex marriage, racial discrimination, gender bias, climate change, sustainability, diversity, equity, inclusion. Good grief! I felt hit over the head by the whole thing. It's not that I don't care about these things, I do. But it was such blatant overkill, I simply shut down and got irritated. Too bad, because I think she's actually a gifted writer.

The narrator, Phillia Soo was brilliant! As always.

I just can't say enough about how well this book is written. Yes, it's a predictable rom-com. However, it is full of interesting details, sub plots, twists and turns that are utterly relatable and often fascinating! The author does an amazing job at character development and you believe every ounce of this love story!

The narration is absolutely brilliant! As you all know, the narrator can make or break the audio book experience. This performance literally takes the written word to the next level. FLAWLESS!

This could have been a great read. A predictable love story, but It had good character development and a solid story line. However, it was full of sexually explicit scenes that were completely unnecessary. If you are into hearing about red hot loins and rock hard members, then this book is for you. If not, you should move on. The narrator did a fantastic job with the Irish and British characters, but her American accent was so awkward - even hard to listen to.

Sorry to have to say - this book isn't worth your time. It's a high school romance with a bit of intrigue thrown in. The really hard part is simply the writing. The author uses the same adjectives and phrasing over and over, repeating the same thoughts and descriptions chapter after chapter. The repetitive details become painfully tedious. I finished the book, hoping there would be a worthwhile ending only to discover it's a "to be continued" series. Wow. However, the performance was well done.

As I look over the reviews, I see that you either love this or hate it! It's somewhere between a story and a stand up routine. It feels like an exaggerated caricature - a parody - meant to be purely comedic. Totally reminds me of Anjelah Johnson, a Latina, doing a stand up routine about a Vietnamese nail tech- poking fun at cultural norms. SO FUNNY. Yes, a white guy wrote a comedy about an African American woman. Lighten up people! This is hilarious!!

What a great book. Cal covers 3000 years of history of the world and tells why all once great nations fail. Its America's turn next if the common man doesn't wake up.

This book is well written and super entertaining. I kept thinking over and over how it would be so great for my children to listen to. It gives such good insight into the life of a kid who struggles (on many fronts) The description of what goes on in Joey's world when he is dealing with his ADHD is brilliant and I think would be really helpful for kids to hear. However, I felt like some of the subject matter was too heavy for kids to take in. Joey's family situation is hard and some of the wording graphic. Wonderful for adults and High School age kids. But, in my opinion a little much for 10 year olds, like Joey. I'm not sure of the intended audience for this book (?)
