Historia
I celebrated when vampires were declared extinct. Those beasts had preyed on humanity for millennia, committing senseless, brutal murders. Like the rest of my colleagues at the Occult Bureau, I looked forward to a world where we could all sleep at night - where constant cover-up jobs were no longer required to keep the public calm and unaware. But the end of vampires wasn't the end of our problems. It was only the beginning.

Starts Slow, Finishes Strong
Revisado: 04-12-20
Okay I have to be honest. With the reviews simply saying this is great Blah Blah Blah you really don’t get a REAL review.
This book starts off wobbly and very slow, but to the authors credit it finishes strong and actually had me looking for the next book.
It’s entertaining once the storyline gets started.
It has some humor, and the characters keep you interested.
I am looking forward to the next installment and will let you know how it stacks up!

Historia
Thriller scribe Sophie Katz is as hard-boiled as a woman who drinks Grande Caramel Brownie Frappuccionos can be. So Sophie knows it's not paranoia, or post-divorce, living-alone-again jitters, when she becomes convinced that a crazed reader is sneaking into her apartment to reenact scenes from her books. The police, however, can't tell a good plot from an unmarked grave.

Sophie should be in jail.
Revisado: 02-03-20
WARNING ⚠️
SPOILER ALERT.
So the book started off strong, funny and then it got irritating.
At one point I was rooting for the killer.
The main character is as sleazy As the murderer.
Setting up an innocent person because you “think” circumstantial evidence, is worthy of ruining someone’s life. IS WHY this book gets such a negative review.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Sophie thinks, setting someone up
is totally justified,
NEVER that makes you a criminal, Sophie. Meanwhile demanding everyone trust and believe her without ANY EVIDENCE,
Example: She burned the note,
Sophie is supposed to be a crime novelist and yet Jessica Fletcher would have solved this crime in 30 min. (45 min to be exact but who’s splitting hairs.)
Once the gay, artist came on scene the whole story was over. It was so OBVIOUS!
Sophie sabotages herself and the whole story goes down the drain.
She is the problem, she is the negative force in her own life.
And her friends. WHAT kind of friends don’t stop you from committing crimes?
I cannot tell you how this character annoyed me.
Crime writers are normally smart, and educated on many levels, Knowing that circumstances out of context can and many times do alter the storyline.
Sophie however skipped the education part and became the very criminal she writes about.
Sophie should be in jail. The book could have redeemed itself by “The White Russian” being released and Sophie & her gang of criminals going to jail.
What a terrible waste of a book that started out so good.

Riley Kennedy’s emails keep getting crossed with her male colleague, Kennedy Riley. The infuriating man forwards them along with his annoying commentary and unsolicited advice. At least she never has to see him in person, since they work in different locations…until they come face to face at the office holiday party.

Great little story!
Revisado: 12-15-19
Fun adult humor and situations that had me chuckling out loud.
The verbal exchanges are wonderfully written and entertaining!
This could totally be a series, I was sad to end this one.

Historia
Soon-to-be college freshman Evie Claremont had hoped that once she'd arrived on Crestwood's campus, the nightmare that she'd been having would go away. It hasn't. She may be an inexperienced 17-year-old, but she's grounded... sane. She looks for rational explanations to even the strangest circumstances. Since meeting sophomore Reed Wellington, however, nothing makes any sense. Whenever he's near, she feels an attraction to him - a magnetic kind of force pulling her toward him.

SNORING!!!!
Revisado: 12-15-19
I wanted to like this book, seriously i did.
BUT What a total waste of time.
Halfway in, I realize it’s so bad I kept falling asleep.
I couldn’t even get to the end of a chapter. Without knocking off a few zzzzz’s
The book tried to hard, with FORCED nicknames and the storyline is so terrible I figured out the whole, arc even with falling asleep.
HARD PASS, if you have limited time to waste on storylines that lack any sort of luster for the imagination. SAVE this one for another day. One full of time to kill, and just out of pure boredom.

Feeling let down by GOT try this series
Revisado: 05-22-19
Amazing! The Ravens Shadow Series From start to finish, THAT is something i cannot say about GOT.
Ryan’s characters are great, the story moves along laying out each character, and adding the multiple character viewpoints opens up more information and develops the story in a much more in-depth way.
I enjoyed the narrator as well, I can’t always say that but he was perfect for this series.
I am so sad to see the end of this series but looking forward to the next Ryan book!
Fantastic fantasy, Battle sequences, misery, love, and journeys to new lands, this series captures you and takes you into the relearn.
Enjoy!

Meh...
Revisado: 12-21-18
Sadly I couldn’t wait for this audiobook to be over.
I read the first book so I was already committed.
The storyline is Predicable with this character.
Bren causes most her angst herself.
Simply put She is a brat.
She is always running towards danger like an ill prepared toddler.
Then wonders Why? How? When she gets hurt or someone gets killed. ITS MADDENING
And having to listen to her through this narrator makes her character even more Intolerable.
She is supposed to be a trained strong, smart soldier but she can’t ever do anything herself she needs TO BE SAVED all the time, every step of the way.
Or she all the sudden turns into RoboCop and takes on 50 soldiers, and a few ogers and leaves the reader or listener wondering WHERE did that come from?
Then she passes out and you think to yourself
Ah “There she is” that’s our girl.
Her actions cause a lot of people she supposedly cares about to die needlessly.
You will want to slap her! Or cheer for the bad guy because she is so ridiculous.
And that’s my review. End.
