tbf I haven't finished it but unless he comes back...yeah no. Plus the male narrator is awful. The writing is trite. Then they kill off the dog. Zero redeeming qualities.

took a while to get into

I think it took half the book for me to get into the story, but a lot of that had to do with the narrator being really campy. Most of the book sounded like she was telling a ghost story at a campfire, and not in a good way, if that makes sense. It's definitely heavy on the Y in YA, but I can live with that for this type of book.

one star for getting the mmc pov but really....what's the point? sue disappointed to see this and the next in the series are not continuing the plot.

I don't need to experience tinnitus

the story is interesting. the actors are good. but my. freaking. goodness. the tinnitus. we know what it is. we don't need to actually experience it. do you know how many of your listeners use headphones? even without the headphones I still cringed every time that sound played. and it played **a lot.**

I am pretty forgiving as a listener, but if I'm halfway through a book and still don't care about anyone or anything in the story ... well it's not a good thing.

narrator is absolutely fabulous

I don't think I've ever been so blown away by a narrator. Her accents are impeccable. I've listened to this entire series and the next (all by the same narrator), and I just am more blown away by every book. The story does get convoluted at times, but Angele Masters does a phenomenal job keeping all of the characters in perfect balance. I know who is talking before the writing tells me.

As far as the story goes, I think K. B. Wagers does a great job making the ancillary characters feel real even though everything is through the lens of the main character. I didn't expect this series to be so politically themed. I was expecting more space opera style (the second series is more like that), but I still really enjoyed it.

tricked into listening to a boring enemies to lovers. I'm all for a little smut but this book took it too far and had so little story like it's basically pointless. It's like she just got tired of writing and just quit. Not to mention we had to sit through an obnoxious love triangle just to have all of the things that happened in it be completely pointless.

The characters are abysmal

Everyone are just jerks except the main character. She, on the other hand, is just obnoxious. I'm not even going to go into the dialogue. DNF

Story is okay. Acting is okay. But, assuming you value your eardrums, don't follow their advice that "headphones are recommended." Just. don't. do. it.

How many descriptions of breasts do we need? There are more descriptions of naked women than plot. I don't mind the nudity if it serves a purpose or if, at least, there is some type of plot.
