Historia
India, 1922: In the kingdom of Satapur, a curse seems to have fallen upon the royal family, whose maharaja died of a sudden illness shortly before his teenage son was struck down in a tragic accident. The kingdom is now ruled by an agent of the British Raj on behalf of Satapur's two maharanis, the dowager queen and the maharaja's widow. The royal ladies are in dispute over the education of the young crown prince, and a lawyer's council is required. Just one person can help them: Perveen Mistry, India's only female lawyer.

An excellent second adventure
Revisado: 04-02-24
I love the second book in this series, the ongoing character development and introduction of new and interesting people to Perveen‘s world. Can’t wait for the next one.

Historia
Khai Diep has no feelings. Well, he feels irritation when people move his things or contentment when ledgers balance down to the penny‚ but not important emotions, like love. His family knows better - that his autism means he just processes emotions differently. When he steadfastly avoids relationships, his mother takes matters into her own hands and returns to Vietnam to find him the perfect bride.

Does not disappoint!

I loved The Love Quotient and was nervous to read this, as I’m always worried that the next book won’t be quite as good. But I shouldn’t have. This book was great! I love the tension, the characters, and some unexpected complexities. Highly recommend (just make sure your car Bluetooth doesn’t automatically start playing on the way to school!)

Would not recommend
Revisado: 03-14-15
An interesting time and place and topic, and a good writer, but the main character is so painfully weak and dumb that I could barely finish and wouldn't recommend it.
