Don’t bother
Revisado: 10-23-21
Sadly this was a huge disappointment. I had to stop listening. All the stories I listened to (over half) were negative. Anti religious, anti elderly, evil government-although this days that one actually has a ring of truth, and racist. The days we need stuff to make us think, uplift our spirits, or give us an escape; this is not any of those.
I suggest skipping this unless you enjoy reading hateful short stories.

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Historia
"I’m James Taylor and I’m a professional autobiographer", says the celebrated folk singer at the start of this tender audio memoir. Through decades of music by one of the best-selling musicians of all time, who created classics like "Fire and Rain" and "Carolina in My Mind", James Taylor has doled out his history in the poetry of his work. Taylor says his early life is, "the source of many of my songs", and Break Shot is a tour of his first 21 years in rich, new detail.

Free, but I can't get back my time.
Revisado: 04-20-20
I must start out by saying I had know idea who James Taylor was before I listened to this free audio book. The music I'd hear some of and to be honest his short ditties were the highlight of this audio book.
My difficulty in listening to the book is how everything is based on an idea of the "WOKE" society and social justice. By this I mean rich people, who try to relate to those of us who grew up poor or middle class while trying to prove how awake they are to all the different types of people. The biggest problem I have with this is the validation they are seeking, by saying they so accept everyone as being different and in the same breath devalue people's right to be an individual.
Yes his family got a divorce, so did mine, but am I really supposed to feel sorry for him? He talks about running around Martha's Vineyard and doing drugs and how things didn't not turn out well for his siblings. I can understand all that, but could he have done it without pushing the political agenda? Ok, so I don't like his political views; to each his own, but the book had too many backhanded put downs for people who don't see things the way he does. If he wanted to tell a story about his family he could have, but it came off as whining about how bad he had it.
I don't know the book got old fast and I hit eject about 15 minutes before the end. Maybe it's a City Boy view that a Country Girl like me just couldn't stomach. Too many excuses. My suggestion...one of the many awesome self help or meditation books Audible offers. You'll feel way happier when you're done.

It was a good Sherlock Holmes soon off. Some predictability and representative stuff that could have been edited out, but worth the credit.

Good Idea, but needed another edit
Revisado: 05-29-19
So I liked the premise of the story, but the flash backs needed to be cut back. Will and Tanner's first flash backs were enough to set up the needed back story. While the info on government surveillance and their violation of personal privacy was well done...there were times when Tanner's actions, driven by his naivety and general belief in the best of people and the government comes off as thin on substance and repeative.
Overall the ideas were good...I think the story couple have been better if a person who didn't know the story read it and helped to move a few things and cut some out.

Actually managed to Surprise Me
Revisado: 05-25-19
Scott Brick was great as usual. Somehow I always hear a bit of the Ender's Games Series everytime I hear him narrate. The story kept me interested. I prefer stories that I can't predict the outcome or see the plot line as it forms. I'll now have to try more of Baldacci's books. If you need something to entertain you this is definitely a great choice, but make sure you listen well. there is info bread crumbs dropped along the way. you'll want o know those do at the end of you don't sit scratching your head, but say that's how that piece fits into the puzzle.

Historia
Kaylin wasn’t sent to the West March to start a war. Her mission to bring back nine Barrani might do just that, though. She traveled with a Dragon, and her presence is perceived as an act of aggression in the extremely hostile world of Barrani-Dragon politics. Internal Barrani politics are no less deadly, and Kaylin has managed - barely - to help the rescued Barrani evade both death and captivity at the hands of the Consort.

Revisado: 01-22-19
If you love a good mystery, then this is the collection of a life time. Steven Fry does our favorite detective justice in this wonderful performance. The language and the storytelling take you back to a different time of proper manners, gaslighting, carriages, and solving murders with the power of the mind not technology.

Especially when enemies new and old surround her and those she would call friends are equally dangerous... And then the real trouble starts.
