I'm not sure what happened around the midway point and the "man baby" conversation, but the characters completely changing to values that don't fit their established personality was off putting. It's a shame because I was enjoying the story until then. Aiden's parents were insufferable.

I enjoyed narration the narration for the most part, although there were several editing issues with the narrator repeating phrases.

The plot had legs but every point was so forced, unnecessary, or made the characters completely irredeemable that it was such a waste of time. I usually like Meghan Quinn but "punted" is probably the best way to describe this book. If you're looking for depth or development- look elsewhere.

There's some editing issues especially towards the end, but overall some good nuggets of info to takeaway. From a listening experience, the last chapter is the best.

There were a lot of positive elements to the writing and dialog, but the plot left a lot to be desired- or rather the 50 plot points never converged successfully. Pick a struggle girl, and work that one out before introducing another obstacle for no fathomable reason other than the possibly the author having a bunch of unused ideas with nowhere to go or to reach a word count.

Don't even get me started on the timeline or introduction of characters whose sole purpose was to handoff a script without any development or further conversation while the internal dialog made the character seem much more impactful than they actually were. It gave me whiplash and I wanted carve away huge unnecessary chapters that did nothing for the story and weren't intriguing.

While the heart of this story (or lack of) left a lot to be desired, the ride you took to get there (the comedic writing, pace) kept me through the end. Begrudgingly.

I'm not sure why this was such a short story, but there was plenty of backstory that could have been explored and more time interacting with other characters. It seemed rushed when it could have had so much more depth. It was also a strange choice for the female narrator.

This book almost barely got started because as soon as Jacob physically blocked Sandy in her house and didn't get tazed, I was hyper aware how incredibly toxic this dynamic was. It could have very easily gone into a kidnapping thriller with all the stalking, but because he's the hero working through his hangups it all worked out in the end. Sandy's sister trying to convince her it wasn't as bad as she thought was the most bizarre part. This is not my kind of troupe and although that dynamic doesn't continue, it can be a trigger for some.

Love the story but the flashbacks were distracting

I love the story overall, but there were a lot of flashbacks and I wish there weren't changes to other character's storylines. This coupled with an introduction to a large number of characters in the middle made it difficult to follow in some parts. I would have preferred overlapping of timelines in future books over straying from the main story.

Aside from the cringiest part of the book being the nicknames, there was not much character development. It was hard to believe a connection between Damien and Elle because there were no real conversations. Even the love scenes didn't seem that intense other than the author having to say "it was earth shattering." Until the end, nothing really happen and all those characters seem to come out of nowhere.

I understand this is in journal form, but the abrupt jump in timeline of events is somewhat difficult to follow. The most grating part were all the *Acks* Maddie uses when narrating. I know that in written form it may not be as bothersome, but goodness it was jarring and annoying by the end.

This book was light on romance and heavy on building a plot foundation. The story is interesting and Kristen Ashley has written all over the romance spectrum so I'm interested in what happens in book 2!

Obviously I got to the 3rd book in the series so I liked the characters and story well enough, but this one in particular was unsettling at times. There wasn't enough space between the romance and the sensitive topics.

The uncomfortably gave me whiplash and I had to stop listening at parts. Just prepare yourself for some descriptive language that seems unnecessary and time spent on topics that isn't in keeping with the other books.

I did appreciate how the stories tied up (even if there were more loose ends than seemed warranted from books 1 & 2). Also would have liked more Morgans obviously, but I will definitely give more books a try in the future.
