Loved this!

I was surprised at how much I absolutely loved this story! its target audience is young adults but as a mature, older adult, I really enjoyed the writing style and the story itself - not to mention how great Kirby Heyborn is at narrating the many voices and nuances in this story. It was a gripping story, very well written, and I laughed out loud harder than I've laughed at a book in a long time! Please, do yourself a favor and give this a listen!

A worthy addition to the adventure!

This portion of the continuing saga of the Gravedigger's Son and the Waif Girl took a darker turn, but was still enjoyable. As before, Gildart Jackson did an exceptional job with the narration! I'm looking forward to Volume 4.

One of the most enjoyable listens I've had in years!

This series has been a blast to listen to! The story is a rollicking adventure with great pacing, and terrific characters that are well-drawn. The narration is so well done that the voice actor has quickly become one of my favorites. If you haven't listened to Volume One, run to get it, then listen to this one. I'm off to get Volume Three!

I really liked this story, and the narration was incredible! The plot, the pacing, the range of characters: I was kept guessing and on the edge of my seat through the whole story! I can't wait for the next installment!

A hugely satisfying part 3!

I loved everything about this book! Kevin Hearne created a masterful flow of all the storylines and characters. The voice acting by Luke Daniels and Xe Ssnds was nothing short of incredible! I was so entertained by the whole package that I truly did not want it to end.
Please give this whole trilogy a listen! It's totally worth it!

Interesting storyline

Interesting storyline, just a little different than the usual "aliens visiting Earth and taking mates." I enjoyed the different take on the trope.
This is nothing personal against the narrator, but at times I almost felt like I was listening to AI. She had a few different voices, but her cadence at times came across as mechanical. I still enjoyed listening to the story, though, and that is why I gave it four stars.

One of my all-time favorites series of all time!

I laughed! I cried! I was on the edge of my seat so many times! I listened to this way too late at night, but it was so worth it! This is one of my favorite series ever, and that is saying something, as I have hundreds of audio books in my library.
The writing was the best! So often, fantasy books have a tendency to get a bit... verbose. But, these books all flowed so smoothly that I listened to all three in one week, and I did not want it to end! The story was exciting, entrancing, and the characters were so well-developed that they seriously felt like old friends by the time it ended. The world building was great (I seriously want to live in the keyhole valley!), and the plot was well drawn with excellent pacing. The nuances of her writing just blew me away, with so many memorable moments that I can't pick just one to recount.
Kate Reading has been one of my top four favorite narrators for a very long time. Her range and acting chops really shine in this series, with (by my count) close to 30 main voices to keep track of! I could have listened for many more days, and I know that I will come back to this performance again and again!
Please, please give this excellent series a listen! It's so worth the time!

I don't understand why there are any negative reviews on this. I really enjoyed the entire listen and thought the performances and the writing were great. I was hooked right through to the very end.

Wow! What A Journey!

This was a long series with many hours of listening, but boy, was it worth it! I really enjoyed the story development, the characters, and the narration was great! It was a very exciting series, and the cliffhangers were manageable only because I listened to the entire series straight through! If I'd had to wait in between these stories, I think I would have gone crazy!
I really like Ms Love's writing style, and can't wait to explore other stories that she has written.
