Isn’t this obvious??
Revisado: 03-23-25
Unpopular opinion: I cannot believe this is actually a theory and a book lol. Apparently I’ve been using this “technique” for most of my life. I thought it was as obvious to not stress about what’s behind your control but apparently it’s not! I could not stop laughing just a few minutes into this book. I quickly realized I was not the target audience for this and was thinking at least this could be a great book for parents on how to be less controlling and then she said that this should not be used on kids because they’d run out into the street!!!
Honestly, one of my big takeaways from this book is how sad it is that it resonates with so many people. It says a lot about society that so many people struggle with needing to control other people and circumstances. My sense is that most people this resonates with have never gone to therapy before and are having difficulty functioning day to day when it comes to their emotional regulation.
I think my own baseline is a lot more chilled out than the author, as she admitted she used to be very emotionally immature and emotional regulation was something she struggled with.
So, all that said, I actually do recommend this book if it’s helpful and if not, it’ll be a really good laugh!

Important Read for the Average Person to Understand AI and Its Implications
Revisado: 04-06-24
Very well-written. Straightforward, thorough, and balanced in its outlook. As someone who already had a lot of prior knowledge about AI, I highly recommend this book, particularly to individuals who are newer to the field. This is a book everyone needs to read to better understand AI and its implications.
