The story is decent. The MC tends to get annoying with his obsession of staying hidden. His logic for it is deeply flawed as well which compounds the feelings of annoyance.

Story is what it says it is

This story is a slice of life as it says in the description. Seeing a bunch of reviews complaining about the book for being what it says it is. If you don't like the idea of a slice of life story you are probably going to find fault with this book. That said it is good representation of the genre.
Slice of life is a depiction of mundane experiences in art and entertainment. In theater, slice of life refers to naturalism, while in literary parlance it is a narrative technique in which a seemingly arbitrary sequence of events in a character's life is presented, often lacking plot development, conflict, and exposition, as well as often having an open ending.

Enjoyable slice of life story in a medieval world

The start is hard to get past.

Right from the start the events feel weird. The photo scene feels like something that would not happen in real life. Then he gets transported to a new world and his reactions seem like nothing a real person would have. Just all around hard to keep listening past the beginning.

Fun story, Awesome Narrator.

Listened to the whole thing in a couple sittings. Story had a good flow without out any overly awkward parts to pull you out of it. Fun listen. Liked Melissa's Narration. Hopefully he has the rest of the books recorded to audio as well.

Pretty good but a bit annoying at times

The story is ok. This author does the thing I hate the most with harem books. I don't care either way if the MC gets with a specific woman or not however I hate when the author tries to have the MC be all "I only love this specific woman" but then also has to have every woman the MC meets think he is the most amazing man ever and want to be with him.

Wow the MC is the actual cliche of a "nice guy". He actually calls himself a nice guy at one point. Tries to act nice but every time things don't go his way he snaps like a crazy person railing at the woman. Basically "OMG you are so perfect" to "You stupid b$tch wh*re why don't you see how great I am?"

Both fought the attraction that threatened to destroy them. Their love was plagued by demons and curses. A twist in time brought them together testing Mika's faith and Leah's strength. Romance, action, and adventure combine to make this one of the best novels of the year. Theirs was a love that spanned the ages, only a twist in time could keep them apart.
