Hilarious
Revisado: 11-13-22
The stories span from ridiculous to angering, but the way Amber and Lacey tell the stories is very entertaining. Great perspective on exhausting situations. Plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.

Historia
Now cohost of Fox's The Real and SiriusXM's Café Mocha, Loni Love hasn't taken the typical path to becoming America's favorite straight-talking girlfriend and comedian. She was not the child of Hollywood legends and she never wore a size 00. Rather, she grew up in housing projects in Detroit, more worried about affording her next meal than going on a diet.

Entertaining and Inspiring
Revisado: 11-13-22
Full Disclosure: I didn't know who Loni Love was before listening to this. I saw it on a recommendations page, and thought--why not? I'm glad I checked it out, because I loved her story and the way she tells it. She's hilarious. (My boyfriend would be half-listening in the background, and occasionally I'd hear him laughing too.) I appreciate her perspective, and am inspired by her motivation and resilience.

Historia
Sophia Chang is a badass of the music industry. As the daughter of Korean immigrants in predominantly white suburban Vancouver, she grew up shunning the “model minority” myth. Armed with a fierce sense of independence, she moved to New York City and infiltrated the world of hip-hop, yet remained mostly in the shadows of the artists she supported. With her debut memoir, Sophia Chang is finally ready to grab the mic for herself.

ALIVE
Revisado: 12-03-19
I appreciated the honesty, and the energy. Sometimes when finishing a biography, one is left with a collection of anecdotes about a life. In this case, I finished the book with a sense of excitement. Beyond telling a story, she is compelling her audience to be in tune with the palpitations of everyday life--and then taking that beat and elevating it.
