Good story and value for one credit!

This is the complete series for one credit, an excellent deal. I am new to the post apocalypse books and have been surprised at how much I have enjoyed them. If you like long books you can binge on you won’t be disappointed. This has a well written story with a good narrator.

I got this book for free using my prime ministership and prime reading. I just recently found out that some free books available with prime reading also contain a free audible version. This was the first book I “purchased” this way and was not disappointed. The story was well written and the narration was done well. I have found this is a great way to discover new authors and narrators.

Another 5 star performance

I have been listening to audio books since 1991 when a girlfriend sent me one while on a dessert camping trip with the Army. I was hooked and never stopped. I joined Audible when I received an XM radio with a free trial in 2006. I have about 1000 books in my Audible library and another 800 or so in my iTunes library. I rarely write reviews because everyone’s tastes are different and I have found books I thought were excellent and had poor reviews as well as good reviews on books I hated. All that leads me to this R. C. Bray is without a doubt the best narrator I have ever heard. I have purchased almost all the books he narrates but The Expeditionary Force series and the Arisen series are the best of the best. I believe R. C. Bray can read the ingredients on a Preparation H label and make you love it, so when R. C. is combined with a awesome author like Craig Alanson it is pure “awesomeness”!!!

I like Sean and he is a narrator I look for but R C Bray is the best there is especially when it comes to kick ass zombie killers. The stories were ok both narrators have muck better.

Annoying sound effects by narrator

Would you try another book from L. E. Modesitt Jr. and/or Kirby Heyborne?

The story is good but the sound effects the narrator makes are very annoying. The sound effects should've been left on the editors floor when the book was written or left out in narration. Other than that the book is good and I will probably give the next book a try.

What aspect of Kirby Heyborne’s performance would you have changed?

NO SOUND EFFECTS!!!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The narrator did an excellent job with this book. But the book itself seems unfinished it should've been the first few chapters in a larger book, it's definitely not worth a full credit.

Has A March of Kings turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, but I would not spend a full credit on another book this short. I would however purchase it for a discounted price.

Have you listened to any of Wayne Farrell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, all that I have listened too I have enjoyed.

Good but...

Where does A Quest of Heroes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The story is well written and very well performed but there is 11 books out in the series and only two in audio format I do not recommend getting this title until the rest of the series is out in audio format. The second book seems unfinished and stops at a bad point leaving the listener hanging.

Narrator destroyed story

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Oliver Wyman and Jason Culp did an excellent job with the first four books. This narrator however is terrible, it is absolutely horrible to listen to, he puts you to sleep. What a mistake it was changing narrators.

Would you recommend How Firm a Foundation to your friends? Why or why not?

No Narration is terrible!

Would you be willing to try another one of Charles Keating’s performances?
