Historia
Being an unwanted twin in the Imperial line of succession, Farilane became a scholar, adventurer, and in a time when reading was once more forbidden—a book hunter. Her singular obsession is finding the mythical Book of Brin, a tome not just lost but intentionally buried. Respected and beloved by the Teshlor Knights, not even their legendary skills can protect her for what she finds is more dangerous than what she sought.

Great book in the series. Fairlane is an amazing character, and Mondelay is up to his usual.

Historia
Even as a young girl, Jill was a favorite of the magical, mysterious Wildfolk, who appeared to her from their invisible realm. Little did she know her extraordinary friends represented but a glimpse of a forgotten past and a fateful future. Four hundred years - and many lifetimes ago - one selfish young lord caused the death of two innocent lovers. Then and there he vowed never to rest until he'd righted that wrong - and laid the foundation for the lives of Jill and all those whom she would hold dear.

Great start to a great series. Love the transitions between past and current time and seeing how fates intertwine and issues from previous lives are resolved.

Historia
On a dying world along the galactic fringe, Quinton Aldren awakens in the body of an archaic android that’s barely operational. He has only vague memories of who he was and no idea what has happened. Everyone is gone and autonomous mechs are hunting for him. As remnants of the old federations struggle to survive after a devastating war, old alliances are eradicated, leaving warlords and mercenaries to fill the void. When a powerful mercenary discovers Quinton’s origin, he’ll stop at nothing to capture and enslave him.

Great Start to a series
Revisado: 01-24-21
I like the way we are introduced to a new universe through a character that doesn’t know what is going on. You can feel there is a history to the universe and how it got the way it is, but some of the mystery is finding out what happened, and seeing how the main character is going to help with the way things currently are. I’m looking forward to seeing how things progress in the hero’s journey.

Historia
After the Final War, after the appearance of the Bug aliens and their enforced peace, Shining Smith is still alive, still doing business from the old scrapyard bequeathed to her by her father. But Shining is now something more than human. And the scrapyard is no longer just a scrapyard, but a place full of secrets. This life she has built, while empty, is predictable and safe. Until the only friend left from her previous life shows up, dead, in the back of a scrapped Tesla warplane. Clutched in her cold fingers is a note to Shining - warning her of a coming attack.

Fun Junkyard Warrior Story
Revisado: 01-06-20
Strong beginning to what will hopefully be a new series. Kristine Hvam’s performance of Faith Hunter’s story pulls you into this new future where her protagonist has survived an apocalyptic war and is currently getting by living / working in the gray areas from her families junkyard.
The setting feels real with hints of backstory and impacts of technology thought out and slipped into the story as needed, without excessive exposition.
While this book has room to expand to a series, it wraps up the story so you don’t have to worry about being left on a cliff hanger. It’s just that you’ll want to learn what these characters get up to next.

Historia
On the edge of the galaxy, a diplomatic mission to an alien planet takes a turn when the Legionnaires, an elite special fighting force, find themselves ambushed and stranded behind enemy lines. They struggle to survive under siege, waiting on a rescue that might never come. In the seedy starport of Ackabar, a young girl searches the crime-ridden gutters to avenge her father's murder; not far away, a double-dealing legionniare-turned-smuggler hunts an epic payday; and somewhere along the outer galaxy, a mysterious bounty hunter lies in wait.

Meh
Revisado: 11-16-18
First book could’ve been based now in Afghanistan.
Second story not a direct sequel, more SF elements. Bounty hunters in space, generic republic going bad.
Not much depth to characters.
So meh, wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t great.

Royce and Hadrian at it again
Revisado: 08-06-18
Another great story with Royce and Hadrian. It can be read by itself, but also has tidbits for those who have read the other stories. The byplay between Royce’s negative view of the world and Hadrian’s positive view and their bantering / bickering continues. Sullivan is also good about including the clues for what is going on. So, as things are revealed, you get the “oh yah”, that’s why that was happening earlier, instead of a where did that come from.

Another fun story of Clan Korval
Revisado: 07-12-16
This is the first Liaden Story I've listened to instead of reading in paper and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've always enjoyed the dialogue in the Liaden series, and it works just as well in audio form as well as written. If you are familiar with the Liaden universe, you must definitely get this book. If you are new to the Liaden universe, this book has sufficient back story to understand and enjoy the book. And then you can go get the rest of the series starting with agent of change. The Liaden series is a space adventure series following the adventures of clan Korval a family of pilots and traders set in a universe with lots of planets populated with lots of different cultures. The action is mainly character driven with well developed and realistic characters. If you like books in Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan series, you should enjoy this series as well.
