Historia
Greg almost died on vacation in Costa Rica. This is a true story. Greg is a lifelong improv comic, but here, he does something a little different. He does not go for the quick laugh. He relives his near-death experience so deeply, you won't know if he gets out alive until the very end.

Great listen

Author shares a very personal story and performs it well. I normally listen to my Audible on 1.3x speed but slowed down to normal for this one to fully get the effect of the delivery. Would listen to more work by this author.

Historia
Just as Masters and Johnson were pioneers in the study of human sexuality, so Dr. John Gottman has revolutionized the study of marriage. As a professor of psychology at the University of Washington and the founder and director of the Seattle Marital and Family Institute, he has studied the habits of married couples in unprecedented detail over the course of many years. His findings, and his heavily attended workshops, have already turned around thousands of faltering marriages.

Gold standard
Revisado: 11-12-20
I’ve listened to some other books in the relationship genre and they all reference Gottman. This is the stuff. Go to the source. All of his methods are backed up by research and he readily admits when his research changed his own opinions. So many great pieces of wisdom throughout the book. Plan to revisit occasionally as a refresher. Some of the exercises at the end of the chapters do not translate entirely well to audio, but they still do enough to be thought provoking.

Historia
The Mongol army led by Genghis Khan subjugated more lands and people in 25 years than the Romans did in 400. In nearly every country the Mongols conquered, they brought an unprecedented rise in cultural communication, expanded trade, and a blossoming of civilization.

Fascinating
Revisado: 10-25-20
I must confess, my previous understanding of the Mongols came from their unfair representation as bloodthirsty conquerors. I had no idea how revolutionary they were with regards to social, economic, and military ideas. What a great book. Sometimes the truth is better than fiction. The “origin story” of Genghis is fascinating and one can see how decisions in his young life led to world changing decisions in his older age. I was also fascinated by how many of the Mongol ideas were so ahead of their time and how they leveraged differences into strengths. Will probably listen to again at some point.
