While they still prove to be a menace when they are found in massive herds numbering in the hundreds of thousands if not the millions, it is now the living that can be the most terrifying. Humanity is clawing to regain its place, and some will do anything to ensure their own survival...even at the cost of others.

Meet Ken Simpson, a retired police officer; Rose Tinnes, a newly divorced woman trying to get her life back in order; and Jason Edwards, a man recently paroled and looking forward to his freedom.
