Loved the story, the narrators were just 'ok'
Revisado: 04-12-19
I really liked the overall story line. The story line got off to a slow start, but after Part 2 it really picked up and I found that I couldn't stop listening. However, as far as the narration goes, I felt there were too many different narrators (at least 6 different ones) and a few of which I didn't particularly enjoy listening to. The male voices were great, whereas several of the female voices sounded like they were merely reading, not really acting the parts like some other narrators. One female narrator kept ending her sentences with kind of a breathy sound at the end. They weren't awful, just not really good compared to others I've listened to. In my opinion, using one really good narrator like January LaVoy, Edoardo Ballerini, Cassandra Campbell, or even Scott Brick, to name a few, would have been a better choice and would have really made this a great listen.

Historia
In her career as an Army intelligence officer, Amy Cornwall has seen haunting sights half a world away. None compare to the chilling scene at her Virginia home. It is empty. A phone rings with a terrifying ultimatum: locate and liberate an unnamed captive in 48 hours, or her kidnapped husband and 10-year-old daughter are dead. Now, and in open defiance of Army Command, Amy must employ every lethal tactic she has to save them. To succeed, she must discover not only who dispatched her on this mission, but why. Without her family, she's dead anyway.

Not really what I expected
Revisado: 08-15-18
I like to read psychological thrillers, but this one turned out to be more of a fantasy, with out-of-body experiences that I couldn't quite get into. The last part especially the ending was really disappointing, although it seems that others enjoyed it. I could handle a little paranormal, but this was just a bit too much...

Bodily Harm opens with a big win for Sloane and his new partner, Tom Pendergrass, in a medical malpractice case centered on the death of a child. But on the heels of this seeming victory, an unlikely character – toy designer Kyle Horgan – comes forward to tell Sloane that he’s gotten it all wrong. Horgan’s the one who’s truly responsible for the little boy’s death and others – not the pediatrician Sloane has just proven guilty.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. The suspense, twists and turns, and great character development makes this one of the best books out there. The narrator is absolutely phenomenal! The emotions and voices he uses for the different characters is truly amazing and really makes listening that much more enjoyable. I loved it!
