Historia
This story follows Bard Owen Dorr as he inadvertently finds himself traveling with a group of entertainers, pilgrims, and, for a short while, a group of mercenaries. As they share combat together, he collects their stories and finds that they have all been put together for a purpose: to stop the return of Adam’s first wife, Lilith, the queen of demons. But in the group is a liar, a traitor, and an agent for Lilith's adversary. Owen and Adam must uncover them all as even the legions of heaven and hell take to the field of battle. Lilith must be stopped at all cost, or all creation will return to chaos.

What in the....?!?!
Revisado: 06-23-19
Do NOT read this if you are adverse to explicit rape scenes. Many, many, many explicit rape scenes.
The story starts out somewhat unassuming and absolutely enthralling. There's a bit of graphic detail about rape and pillaging and the atrocities of war in the first few chapters, but mostly par for the coarse for epic fantasy, as well as develops the story, so no big deal, right?! WRONG!
So quickly did the book evolve in later chapters into just … well, I don't want to judge, but without any warning, there's absolutely explicit (who put what where and how) rape around every corner... men and women raping men, men and women raping women, men and women raping children, farm animals raping women, farm animals raping children, an elephant raping a princess after an entire army rapes her as well, and then I finally drew a line at the oh so very … every detail included, description of six small girls in a convent, led by a seventh slightly older girl who's described as being mentally slow being prodded in every horrifying manner. And the author indulges the reader on how her poor slow mind handles the situation... I turned it off at that point, it just wasn't necessary to the story progression, honestly... I am returning the book, I haven't been so repulsed in quite a long time.
I won't deny the author is a masterful tale teller, but seriously, just add some warnings or something... I haven't stopped shuddering in days.

The Spellmonger Series is NEVER a disappointment!
Revisado: 01-10-19
I often think of different series I've truly enjoyed versus series that entertain but don't exactly fulfill. This series, though, is something different altogether for me. It's entertaining, fulfilling, the character development is there, every scene is painted in fabulous detail but not to the point you forget where the storyline begins and ends. Mr. Mancour is truly the arch-mage. The complex magical system, the interplay and retrospective moments that cause you to think about your own life, and his unique perspective of Gods, magick, government, politics and economics are a delight to me! This book is an excellent installment in the Spellmonger series. The story contains lots of action, amazing new concepts and applications in the magical community, a LOT of well - formed drama (you know, the juicy stuff in between battles... and NOT the boring kind!), and introduces a new apprentice to the fold!

What does the most powerful wizard in the world do after the war? Despite the hordes of goblins still ready to ravage human lands, King Rard has signed a treaty with them, so Minalan is forbidden from taking advantage of their weak state. Most would take a well-deserved rest over the summer…but Minalan and his household are busy repaying a favor owed to the tribal Kasari for their help in the war, and the Spellmonger pays his debts. So Minalan spends his summer sneaking 2,000 Kasari children through enemy lines and some of the roughest territory in the Five Duchies toward salvation.

A decent addition to the Spellmonger Series
Revisado: 07-05-18
I wasn't as thrilled with this installment in the Spellmonger Series as to me, the story seemed to be …. padding …. for the story to come. It was a lot of fluff, negotiations, a decent battle or two but nothing remarkable like the last novel. However, I can't help but appreciate the story progression and it wasn't tedious to get through, just a bit... lax, short, and meh... all together. I'm sure the next one will be great though!! Especially with what the ending portended for Minalin's future!

When Monster Hunter International's top hunter, Owen Zastava Pitt, was given a tip about some hunters who had gone missing in action, he didn't realize their rescue mission would snowball into the single biggest operation in MHI's history. Their men are being held prisoner in a horrific nightmare dimension, and the only way to reach them is through the radioactive ruins of a monster-infested war zone. As if that wasn't bad enough, it's also the home base of the powerful creature behind the devastating attacks on the Last Dragon and Copper Lake.

Loved it!!!
Revisado: 08-04-17
I absolutely adore The Monster Hunter series. This book was one more absolutely fabulous addition to the series. Some series that seem to continue on indefinitely begin to get a little too fantastical on order to leave openings for new novels, however, I've never felt that way about this series.
In regard to this novel, specifically, I, in fact, felt like it ended too soon. Every time another Monster Hunter novel comes out I make sure to send a copy to a few friends that don't normally read / listen to any books, at all. (Unbelievable, right???) However, no one I've sent a Monster Hunter Novel or Audiobook to has failed to practically fly through it. This newest addition shall be no different!!
Thank you Mr. Correa, you rock!

Jade, the MC, was contemptible
Revisado: 07-27-16
Honestly I can't figure out what the author was going for here. Ok, so sometimes the main character is wonder woman, but other times she's so traumatized she cowers if a stranger sneezes suddenly too close on a sidewalk, she's calm, she's not, but ... she's NOT A MESS! ! then randomly pulls a gun on the Governor during routine questioning, yet when faced with him before she totally handles it like a champ. Nothing about this character is well thought out other than to obscure the details of the mystery investigation so thoroughly you'll at least be tossed about. . . until you're not.

As an avid audio book listener and lover of the epic fantasy genre, it's not often I find a gem like this book. Not only was the tale enthralling, but it was well put together, the characters were amazing, and it was action packed, thrilling, with a side of sexy.

Absolutely Epic!
Revisado: 06-07-16
I can't say this was the best trilogy I've "read" lately but it certainly ranks in my top ten! I recommend it highly for people who love fast paced, action packed, epic fantasy adventures. It's got some sex scenes, not terribly explicit (in broad comparison to most) and thankfully the author managed to keep most of the scenes in context with the story, which made it enjoyable and not annoying. My end conclusion is this trilogy was well worth the time and money and was amusing and enthralling. The only regret you might have is procrastinating in order to find out what happens next!

Brilliantly woven trilogy... I'm in awe.
Revisado: 03-28-16
First, I'd like to give tribute to the narrator, Steven Brand. He makes listening to any novel easy. Though I've noticed he's got almost no inflectional difference between the male or female characters, or even the different male / female characters, his annunciation and crisp clear storyteller voice has always made my listening experience wonderful. I love listening to his voice.
Now, as for the Raven's Shadow Trilogy. I love the Science Fiction Genre, Epic:Fantasy being my all-time favorite, though I'll read absolutely anything. I don't enjoy television (at all!) and being a busy stay at home (work from home) mother of three small children I no longer have time to pick up a novel. I've found audio book's to be my small comfort while working during the day. I'm rarely found not listening to a book. I'm slowly running out of books to listen to ... though my husband may choose to divorce me if I invest anymore of our earnings back into Audible ;) -- This being said, I often skipped over this title thinking though it was popularly rated, the plot synopsis sounded to me as though it'd be more redundant than not. Finally, I decided I'd give it a try. After the first book, I was totally hooked. The second book ... I stayed up all night just to start the third!
I was so wrong! I've not been so happy to admit that fact in quite a while.
The subtle character development throughout this trilogy is absolutely amazing. This book in particular lays the foundation of morals and troubles to come for most of the main character's featured throughout the trilogy. I struggle to put into words without ruining the overall plot ... the brilliance of how the three books are woven together, but Anthony Ryan seems to have an innate gift for messing with your mind, emotions, prejudices, and drawing you so far into his character's world that you rage against their decisions and get dragged along feeling their frustrations / sadness / and perhaps glory or their end. (I'm not telling!)

Victorian romance mixes seamlessly with elegant prose and biting wit—and werewolves—in Gail Carriger’s delightful debut novel. Soulless introduces Alexia Tarabotti, a parasol-wielding Londoner getting dangerously close to spinster status. But there are more important things than finding a husband. For Alexia was born without a soul, giving her the ability to render any vampire or werewolf completely powerless.

Wonderfully Refreshing
Revisado: 11-07-15
I was absolutely enchanted to find a gem in this book. I thought to find the typical cumbersome bawdy tale of a hapless female thrown into lust driven adventure overwrought by danger at every turn. I did not expect to find a well written, witty, tale that sucked me in and almost kept me up for the whole night!

Heart wrenching and a beautifully designed novel
Revisado: 08-05-15
I usually require some time to process how I feel about a book after I listen to it and so I often forget to return to comment. However I was surprised, I gambled on this story hoping that despite some of the off colored and low reviews that my intrigue into the synopsis paired with Luke Daniels (my favorite narrator of all time) would be enough to carry me through. Well, let's just say I thumb my nose at anyone who thought the novel of no depth. I think I might purchase the eBook so I can add it to the collection and offer the author my support, I was moved very much by the character development in this story. Thank you Jay Posey!
