Historia
Telling the remarkable tale of a man who is still remembered on the streets of New Orleans and in the hearts of professional-wrestling fans, this book aims to restore the overlooked Junkyard Dog to his proper place in the history books. In 1979, Sylvester Ritter, also known as the Junkyard Dog, managed to break one of the final color barriers in the sport by becoming the first Black wrestler named undisputed top star of his promotion, and this biography reveals all the famous feuds and business back stories that made him a wrestling legend.

I just to listen to this book because the Junkyard Dog is the very first professional wrestler I met as a child in November of 1984 at the Oakland coliseum. he quickly became a favorite of mine cuz I watched wrestling throughout my youth. I still watch wrestling regularly I know a lot about the history of the junkyard dog. I chose this book to fill in some of the blanks from his early years and to that extent, it did the job. the editorializing of the author with regards to the value added to pro wrestling by Dave Meltzer and his newsletter began to really irritate me as I listened. it says if he is somehow judge and jury when it comes to wrestling tastes. he often Trends on Twitter these days for the most dubious reasons. he's nothing more than a shill at the moment for aew. I take all of his information these days with a simple grain of salt. the author of this book should seriously consider a revision. the whole epilogue about who makes the Hall of Fame when it comes to pro wrestling was absurd. the criticism of WWE for putting in celebrities and jobbers is the prerogative of the wwe. it's their own Hall of fame. and yet he puts it up against the official standard, which in his eyes belongs to Dave meltzer. who put him in charge? who cares what he thinks? that ended up souring my opinion of this book overall. not to mention the guy comes out at the end proclaiming it's left for Butch reed. maybe you should have written a book about Butch reed.

#Edinfluence is a Must-Have for All Educators
Revisado: 04-03-20
It's not just a light bulb that goes off as I listen and read #Eduinfluence. It's a freaking Fourth of July fireworks show in my mind. I feel the Spirit when I read your book. I'm not kidding. It is overwhelming and hits every note for me. Can't thank you enough, Brent.
Personal experience: I haven't been able to transition to school leadership. God only knows why. I have had crash-and-burn interviews. But you know, in my heart, I know what I am doing is what is best for my students, and these students need me to be their teacher right now. That message in your next to last chapter really reassured me on my walk yesterday. I never felt better.
I share #Eduinfluence with every teacher I interact with when I ask them what book they're reading for professional development. I will continue to.
Have a great day, Brent, and thank you for just being in my life and always encouraging. I'm sure you've my footsteps in the sand on many occasions.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

A fast-paced and action-packed thriller. Characters that you root for and others you despise. Outstanding book by master storyteller Stephen King!
