My career as a firefighter/paramedic stretched from 1974 to 2000 when were inventing EMS as we went along. These are stories from those years on the street. That place I named so long ago, the other reality that exists just outside most people’s everyday lives. It is a place that seems to exist parallel to the normal workaday existence: yet it is only a car accident or cardiac away for any of us. It manifested itself in brushfires, house fires, shootings, stabbings, hangings, accidents with injuries, cardiacs, codes, drownings, and a thousand other emergencies.

Wonderful story!

Paul is one of the most robust people on the planet. After trying to find his life's purpose he joins the military and ultimately gets attacked by a shark. As a result, he loses his arm and leg. he didn't let that stop him from living a fulfilling life. It's incredibly motivating the mental strength required by Paul to get through this and live a happy and fulfilling life. I also recommend any of his videos on YouTube.

A Great Baltimore Story

This a great story about D Watkins' upbringing and the trails and tribulations that he experienced in Baltimore. I live 20 minutes from Baltimore so this hits very close to home. I've had the opportunity to meet Watkins multiple times in Baltimore, sparking conversations, ultimately leading me to intellectual insights and a new perspective on social issues. He left the drug fueled fast money lifestyle as a prominent drug kingpin in Baltimore, to teach English and instill change in his community. To this day, Watkins continues to be one of my true life idols that you can have an honest conversation with. One that is not self consumed with his fame, relatable, and promoting a skill (literacy) that changed his life in his community.

Where does Option B rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is a wonderful book that could be very beneficial to anyone struggling with tumultuous times or those looking to build stronger resiliency in troublesome times.

I like how the author describes the different stages of grief and adequately explains how each has played a role in the author's recovery.
Which scene was your favorite?
The story when the author talks about how Adam Grant creates such strong relationships with his students. The Owen Thomas story was moving!
