Historia
When a God of War barged into his apartment, Jake had no idea what to expect... but it wasn't being forced into a never-ending war against evil invaders, or that the battle would strangely resemble the MMORPG games he loved. Working hard and building himself up from almost nothing, Jake would need every bit of knowledge and preparation to master his new class of Summoner. Joined by a sly Demoness with an ancient past and a shy Valkyrie hoping to prove herself in battle, they'll find excitement and enjoyment as they level and grow in power.

A decent Lutron let down by sub par narration
Revisado: 09-20-23
The story, for what it is, is pretty good.
The narration, on the other hand, is just not there.
I would struggle to call it bad— it isn’t quite monotone, and the attempt is there to distinguish voices. The problem is that the tone is too muted, and emotion and tone seem entirely disconnected from what is going on in the book.
It’s almost like the narrator is more focused on precise reading(full stops at every period for example) than enjoyable reading.

Historia
After telling a goddess of love and passion that I would conquer her, I was dropped into another world: Mistrim. I have no memory of who I was, I have a wicked awesome power born from my desires, and I have a timer on my arm counting down to my death. Not the worst starting point, I would say. But where there is adversity, there is the opportunity for good fortune. Elves, werewolves, harpies, bunny girls, and more—Mistrim is inhabited by all manner of monsters given humanoid forms—Sentients. And, as I found out, harems are commonplace in Mistrim.

This book is just fun.
Revisado: 02-09-23
I love auroro. He is a fun character who never takes anything too seriously, which is a nice change from more serious series.
The narration only serves to make it better, with the male voice adding ettra character to him, and the female voice really selling how completely irrational she finds him.

Historia
Kirk Jensen always chased his dreams. He even left home and chased them across the country. He expected that hard work, training, and determination would make his dreams a reality. Afterall, people always say that if you work hard, you can achieve your goals. He did not expect to be a short order cook working long shifts for minimum wage. He certainly didn't expect to take the garbage out one night and find himself confronted by a thousand pounds of fury armed with fangs and claws. He did not expect to survive.

I truly enjoyed this book. I can see where it can easily be a nice long episodic series where each book is a new "case" or a serialized series where everything plays into long running plots. Either way, I am in because the characters are interesting and the world has a lot of potential.

the premise is good, the writing is okay
Revisado: 01-04-23
I loved the first book in this compilation, but things just kind of went downhill during the second book.
antagonists just kind of became evil because? the hero started acting like a total ass, and one of the characters just gets booted out almost out of nowhere. in general characterizations were not changed smoothly.
then the climax of book 3 really felt like the author was getting tired. out of 10 challenges, 2 are skipped, and the mc is just given things over and over. I like the author, and understand this was his first series, so if you liked this, you will definitely like his other work. if you felt a bit let down, most of his other work is better.

a great new chapter
Revisado: 12-06-22
I loved this book, as I loved this series.
I do however, have a beef with at least one other review here, in regards to the character of Winter.
One of her plot points was that she was deeply ashamed of her past-- without context, what she was ashamed of can come across as quite shallow, but in context, it tells you a lot about her character, and the heart of it isnt really what the other review would have you believe. there will be minor spoilers from here on.
.
.
.
as they have already mentioned it, part if the issue was that the character had premarital sex. the problem is not as much the sex, as the reasons she was having it. and the way she used it. addictive behaviors and knowingly placing yourself in bad situations are always unhealthy.
the context of why she was doing it is more important than the what. and while you might not agree with her that it is something to be ashamed of, the fact she believes it is believable and rounds out her character.

Historia
Steve had experience when it came to waking up with hangovers. Being attacked by kobolds? Not so much. After rousing in the middle of a monster-filled forest, he was sure his life was over. That was until he was saved by a fire-wielding angel who was anything but human. Now Steve finds himself a temporary guest on a small run-down farm filled with monster girls who need his help. None more so than the canine beauty responsible for saving his skin.

fantastic narration in a fun story
Revisado: 10-12-22
the characters and story are great, if you like the genre, although perhaps not the deepest exploration of harem or litrpg out there.
but the narration really kicks it up, being better than some dub casts.

Historia
Life on Shelnora Island seemed to be perfect for me. A tropical paradise, great food, and beautiful women at the local sorority . . . until I crossed paths with a mysterious murder and sightings of an honest-to-God werewolf! Now I'm surrounded by three beautiful women, all drawn into the mystery, and it turns out that my new dog is a smoking hot shapeshifter. Life's gotten crazy, but maybe, if we all work together, we'll find out who the real killer is. Could it be the curmudgeonly divemaster with a grudge? The sleazy resort owner drumming up sensationalism for tourist bucks?

a dissaointment from an author who has done better
Revisado: 10-11-22
first. I have to say the narrator was not good. aside from mispronunciations(I swear he said police oppicers at least once" the female voices and general floatiness just made the book worse than it should have been.
and I have to be honest. I like the authors work, but this was at best a mediocre example. aside from often clunky word choice, there were a lot of instances where I was taken out of it because the characters weren't acting like people. at all. at multiple points, they barged in to private place, bullying their way through, and got almost no pushback. they jumped to conclusions with no context or leadup, and it was often just accepted.
in the end, the book just did not work nearly as well for me as a parody of Scooby-Doo doo by this author should have, and the narration only made it worse.
I wish I could give this book higher praise. I wish I loved it. but in the end, it's only a 2-3 star audiobook.

Historia
Phillip had spent his life living by his mother’s code of honor. One she had instilled in not just him, but her household staff, her soldiers under her command as a general, and all his siblings. One that called to the familial bonds and the importance of putting those above all else. Second only to the land and the crown. If he was being honest with himself, Phillip valued that code of honor. It was something the Curis family was known for. An honorable military family led by a Duchess, Phillip’s grandmother.

decent story
Revisado: 08-24-22
the book was good, although it felt incomplete.
the role reversals in the book were such that I had to keep asking myself, would I feel differently if the the standard gender conventions were held.
it was interesting, but the end really was infuriating because it did not feel like anything had been resolved. hopefully a second book is incoming shortly.
