I didn’t want to stop listening to this, even when it meant that I had to do work while listening. Teresa Plummer is a great narrator,, and I always like listening to her. This book had interesting characters and the plot really carried me along.

Could not get into this book
Revisado: 07-17-16
What would have made Lost and Found better?
A clearer description of what was happening. Also, characters who were more interesting.
I found the story told from the dog's point if view was distracting.
Has Lost and Found turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes!
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Amy Shojai?
I don't know, but someone else!
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Lost and Found?
I never got far enough into it. I rarely stop listening to a book, but just couldn't get interested enough to continue.

Historia
Set in Hollywood, Paris, Bordeaux, and Marseille, Peter Mayle’s newest and most delightful novel is filled with culinary delights, sumptuous wines, and colorful characters. It’s also a lot of fun. The story begins high above Los Angeles, at the extravagant home and equally impressive wine cellar of entertainment lawyer Danny Roth. Unfortunately, after inviting the Los Angeles Times to write an extensive profile extolling the liquid treasures of his collection, Roth finds himself the victim of a world-class wine heist.

Lots of fun if you like wine and France
Revisado: 11-30-09
This book is very entertaining, especially if you enjoy good food (French), excellent wine (red Bordeaux), travel (California and Provence). The story is somewhat lightweight but a fun read.
I thought the reader was excellent in making the various characters come alive, especially the ones in France. Definitely recommended for the right group. It's more fun if you've been to Marseille, and we just returned from a month's trip.

Historia
"This book is in part a detective story. After 9/11 I knew, if I needed further reinforcement, that we are living in a new world - the world of a global capitalist economy that is vastly more flexible, resilient, open, self-correcting, and fast-changing than it was even a quarter century earlier. It's a world that presents us with enormous new possibilities but also enormous new challenges. The Age of Turbulence is my attempt to understand the nature of this new world." (Alan Greenspan)

The tastiest, most uninhibited memoir in years, Insatiable is a feast for the senses and an aphrodisiac for the soul. Great Story of Food and Sex
Revisado: 04-16-06
We have always enjoyed the New York Magazine articles by Gael Greene, dating back to the late 70's. This book is basically her autobiography, telling about her encounters with famous food (and other) people over the last 30 years. She is an excellent chronicler of the New York social scene, especially as it relates to food. It's interesting now to hear the "behind the scenes" story of some of the articles we read in the 70's and 80's, when we lived in Philadelphia and would make regular trips to NYC for food and plays.
It will help if you're a "foodie" when you listen to this book, and there is a lot of sex involved also, as she tells about her various escapades. But I loved it and listened to it in two days.
