Known as the “Hillbilly Donnie Brasco,” Payne was guided through some of the most terrifying assignments in the FBI’s history by his devotion to his family and his Christian faith.

Intimate and breathtaking
Revisado: 03-20-24
This is a beautiful coming of age story. Beautifully written. Honest and truthful without being vulgar or traumatizing. The inclusion of botany and field notes is beautifully incorporated into the story. I feel like I am learning and getting a breath of fresh air from some of the more emotional scenes.

Great science bad criminal justice elements
Revisado: 08-31-23
The science in these books are incredible however you have to look past the completely unrealistic criminal justice aspects. Not as good as the first book but extremely engaging.

Historia
It’s been a decade since Trumanell Branson disappeared, leaving only a bloody handprint behind. Her pretty face still hangs like a watchful queen on the posters on the walls of the town’s Baptist church, the police station, and in the high school. They all promise the same thing: We will find you. Meanwhile, Tru's brother, Wyatt, lives as a pariah in the desolation of the old family house, cleared of wrongdoing by the police but tried and sentenced in the court of public opinion and in a new documentary about the crime.

Unpredictable ending
Revisado: 01-13-23
The characters in this story are well-developed strong women. The story is interesting and will keep you guessing. Definitely recommend for people that are sick of guessing the ending to thrillers and mysteries.

Revisado: 06-19-20
I was completely reluctant to explore this story simply because of the word pray in the title. This is not a religious book, but it is a spiritual one. I felt so connected to this story, the author, and the message. Such an inspiration book!

Nothing new or insightful in this story. Honestly I couldn't even get far enough in this story because the reader was so terrible. He sounded like a gay bored robot.

Slow build-up, predictable, and unrelatable
Revisado: 01-10-20
The main character is completely unrelatable. The story is generic, unoriginal and very predictable. Nothing exciting or compelling happens in the story. The narrator did a wonderful job with the main character though.

Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word.
